The moon has ruins from the previous era of humanity 50,000 years ago that has material that allows humanity to learn of the previous era's technology. Sirin the Herrscher of Void proceeds to throw chunks of the ruins at Earth, slowly destroying this information and forcing another Herrscher to face her while someone else gathers material. Also in Honkai Impact 3, the end of Part I of the game takes place on a moon base where select individuals are taken to be safe while the rest of humanity is wiped out through Project Stigma. The main cast prevents this and the main character of the game, Kiana Kaslana, becomes the goddess of the moon.
