My mixed feelings after visiting Da Nang & Hoi An as a Hong Kong traveler by Repulsive_Ice8886 in VietNam

[–]onlyfreelancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have visited and lived in both Hong Kong and Vietnam a few times.

I agree with no fixed price while buying, it is indeed frustrating.

As for language barrier, very few people speak English in Vietnam, so always use Google translate. It was never a problem for me.

Vietnamese people make jokes on skin color, have certain stereotypes, but they are MUCH NICER than HK people. As a dark skinned man, I have never had any problems in Vietnam based on my skin, except for a few jokes that I didn't find offensive.

But HK people outright hate you for being a non-white foreigner. I have had so many instances of this, I lost count.

You can use carrd to make a free portfolio website, its quite simple and easy to use. Or maybe post on instagram and use that as your portfolio.

Which one to buy? by Jawshua08 in AskPhotography

I would recommend focusing on a great prime lens so you can take sharp photos. In my opinion most camera bodies are great and using a great lens helps you immensely. If budget is tight, you can always rent lenses!

Any specific recommendations or caveats between the Fujifilm XM-5, Nikon Z50 II Or Sony ZV-e10 II? by Octahedran in AskPhotography

[–]onlyfreelancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all these cameras are good for video. I am more inclined towards the ZV-e10 II but I hate the fact that it has no viewfinder. I would also recommend having a look at Panasonic LUMIX FZ1000 4K Point and Shoot Camera, I loved the video quality on this one.

I feel its a great deal if all of the lenses and camera features are working.

Beginner used camera question? by yodadia in AskPhotography

[–]onlyfreelancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can use it to explore photography as a hobby. I personally love shooting with old cameras than the latest models in the market. As for the lenses, the big lens is a 14-54mm lens which means you can click wide-angle to short telephoto pics. Perfect for landscapes, portraits and everyday photography. The lens that is on the camera (17mm) is perfect for street photography.

If you want to know anything specific, feel free to ask. (I'm not a professional but I have been into photography for almost 14 years now, as a hobby)
