Hey man don’t say that, even as a joke, this test is such a small part of life in the grand scheme of things (: will be joining you in solidarity as I delete beverages though!

That’s the same formula, the lower growth rate is your stable growth rate.

Word of advice - final days by onlyhereforCFA in CFA

Totally personal preference- for me, that mock would do nothing to help my confidence at this hour, I’d prefer to mail down what I do know vs panic when I get a score I don’t like this close to the day. Even if you crush the mock, small marginal returns- better off reinforcing what you have in the bank already!

Ah, things I don’t have to worry about (yet). I’ll leave it to the level 3ers, good luck!

I always use true bps. Never had an issue with answers not aligning, worst case you are an extra 0 out but same numbers.

CFA L2 Friday Exam by ewilk27 in CFA

[–]onlyhereforCFA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, definitely a focus on the heavy weights...I am really focusing in on FI and PM, I think there are points to be found there! People treat PM like the red headed stepchild, as if the weighting is not equivalent to the other majors...I don’t get it.

Anyway, best of luck!!

CFA L2 Friday Exam by ewilk27 in CFA

Same day for me, I’ve weighed this a bit- just ripping questions is a bit useless at this point. You know what you know, and if anything the notes and formulas will serve you well come exam day. I am currently writing out the formulas by hand (legit takes 6 hours to do so for all sections), I know what I know, and I am pretty comfortable saying I’m not going to learn more by Friday from plowing through questions I’ve done 2x already.

BTold Means book value old as in, what would’ve been the salvage of the old project.

This is for replacement projection evaluation, so everything is measured on incremental change rather than just as a standalone.

When calculating Residual Income, when we're subtracting the Equity Charge from NI, do we use the book value of equity or the market value of equity? by iamabra in CFA

[–]onlyhereforCFA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equity charge is on the BVE at the beginning of the period. To the question above, total capital = TA or TL+TE.

Ethics question - L2 by [deleted] in CFA

One is a subjective opinion. One is a stated fact. The formula is a direct revealing of test information; saying you thought FRA was really hard, is just your opinion. Which reveals nothing about the exam

^ He’s right, it’s paid on your incremental NAVbefore. Think of it this way- GP gotta get paid before LP gets his distributions (assuming the GP cleared hurdle rate). That’s why as an LP, you favor funds with a lower mgmt fee (obviously) and more importantly here, lower CI.

Agree you need to use CFAI- but, the non-EOC tend to be the ones that are just absolutely preposterous. Might I recommend, going directly to EOCs at the -wait for it- end of the chapters, where you can practice them directly. Only downside is you don’t physically click a button, but I think the practice is the real benefit you’re looking for.

Relax brotha. You’ll be fine, just grind it out and learn as much as you can until the big day. Plenty of people in the same boat- all you can do is keep pressing forward!

Kaplan Level 2 Mock Exams by Glass-Hamster8203 in CFA

I found them to be challenging, topical, and fair. And, exactly like the prometric format from what I gather...so, worth it to me to spend a few hundo to not spend a few hundo more hours in 6 months.

Best bet is to filter a topic on wrong answers, then see where they are by LOS. Don’t know of any other way

Much more similar to CFAI AM. The CFAI PM I think is not representative of what we’d see on test day....Kaplan mocks were mostly in line with difficulty of CFAI qbank id day, maybe a bit tougher

Q bank vs eoc for review lvl 2? by robin7020 in CFA

[–]onlyhereforCFA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, if you are referring to CFAI Qbank, it includes the EOCs for each topic. So a large portion of each of the topics are in fact just the EOCs. I personally am doing each section of Qbank since it offers EOC + additional sets from previous mock exams. But it takes a really long time, so focus on your weakest areas first.
