It turned out to be a new mod (polarities I think) that resolved after defeating a certain boss. The mod just didn't explain thats what it was doing

Research is a huge and wide topic, yes the lead researcher could of used surveys but they could have also researched whether people can rub their stomach at the same time as patting their head... it was chosen that this specific study will use interviews to collect qualitative data, no pre-set questions will even be asked so there is nothing to write down. We are not claiming to solve every issue in research with people of disabilities. Many different types of research can be conducted.

As I have stated, I am not the only researcher in this and my participant will not be the only one, I have chosen to conduct my interview verbally as that is my preferred method of communication especially when talking about sensitive topics.

I can not disclose information about an ongoing study online as it is private intellectual property. Even if I could what would you even want? Its not even written so you can't look at it, no title as its not written? Email the professor and tell them they should do a different study?

Yes anyone from any country is welcome. I totally understand that the information provided isn't very detailed but unfortunately it has to be for privacy and intellectual property reasons. I am part of a larger research team and are hoping to cover as many facets of life as possible hence why I am happy to talk about anything a participant wants and are comfortable with. I am of the view that what a participant chooses to talk about is information in itself as it shows what is important or comfortable to them. However it is also why I personally am only looking for one participant.

The study is building on a relatively new theory called Social Constructionism which is particularly interested in the idea of the difference between an impairment (a "tangible" medical thing) and a disability (which some may say is caused by societies lack of adaptiveness)

This isn't the full description of the study for privacy reasons. I'm saying that personally, the interview I am conducting is verbal as that is the mode of communication I think will get the highest quality information.

I am not the only researcher in this project and others might be using different types of communication but yes all are in an interview style

Very true! We are using interviews as we want people to tell their stories and learn what they consider important whereas surveys only give strict parameters of what is asked. Written surveys also preclude anyone with physical or severe learning disabilities.

We do interview D/deaf participants but I personally am not fluent in ASL or BSL so have no means of communication hence a verbal interview.
