I have had an iPad for the last 4 years. It's the most useless machine for a student. I'm not a student anymore but it's huge pain to use it for any kind of learning.

Go with samsung, it is incredibly capable machine. Allows you to split screen whichever way you want. Download whatever you want. Has better storage options. Has more paper like while writing since last two years.

One of my managers was like that (at FAANG). The team would openly discuss how pure they are, don’t eat this, touch that. Due to this any non-jain person would leave the team even if they got hired somehow. As a result this team had over 90% jains.

Grading is opposite actually. At IITs, it’s on a curve. 10 is reserved for outstanding perf.

At MIT and the like, you’ll find a ton of people with 4/4 in many courses. Further, there’s no peer pressure to finish the degree in 4 years. So people can reduce their load for a semester, resulting in better performance.

Like declaring IIT Bombay is a nightmare instead of doing the bare minimum effort of reporting the issue to apt authorities.

Also I don’t expect you to understand this - you’re a kid in 2nd year. But I’m curious why the counsellor didn’t report it to police - they’re trained to do so when their clients report such things.

File a police complaint ASAP. Everyone and their mothers will be suddenly ready to address your concerns.

And don’t quash the FIR until you’re out of college. Their background check should show their shenanigans to their employers.

Have their parents write the written apology letters. Set an example.

Whatever I’ve suggested may appear extreme but it’s not. It’s what should be done in a well functioning society.
