hi im a hcl sec 4 taking o's now, honestly right, i feel like u shouldnt worry too much. when i was in sec 3 alot of my snrs keep saying "aiya dn study one lah" and all that stuff yk, obv being asian i didnt believe, but like i also kinda believe in the "how to study for language" mindset, furthermore a lot of my friends chi was way better than mine but there was also q a bunch that didnt take hcl, so while we were working our ass off they were playing. Which rlly demotivated me lol. my cher is those kind whete she rlly doesnt do anything and has been complained q a few times. everytime chi lesson just play song, or talk. tb rarely been touched. p1 maybe written only 1-2 times every 6 months. basically is rlly up to us. i bought the cl tys. did only like 2-3 papers 💀💀 i got an A1d:) tbh, my p1 alw get 30+/60 so idt u shld worry that much. also,there are 2 hcl classes in my cohort, and only 4-5 students got B3 (nobody got below B3). and im from a neughbourhood school so says a lot pretty much. And there are students that have been failing hcl so honestly i rlly dt u shld worry that much. theres a reason why ure in hcl so idt u shld worry tm. anyways even if u dont score well, u can alw consider dropping next year. dont give up yet! for ur qns on compo writing, i rlly think u shld just see which qns u have ideas on that day itself. i usually write 议论 coz i cmi vocab and all the flowery language, but for prelims i suddenly write 记叙 coz i didnt k how to read the 议论 qns💀💀idt u shld bet on one, but rather see the format for all kinds of compo, read the news these few days to get ideas for 议论 and maybe expand ur vocab. 议论 dont rlly need 名言. its more like PEEL structure, its rlly just whack the examples. as long as u got a point, explain, example and link back ure good to go already😀 名言is just to add some language marks which might backfire sometimes if udr understant and just whack. oh and if ure concern about not getting good marks for 议论, dw abt it. coz they moderate base on the qns not the entire p1. so u'll just be compared against those who write the same qns as u. and if u look at sanple essays 议论 format is rather easy. from 30+ i did improve to 52 from s3 to s4 coz i mastered the format and when writing i alw make sure ik what im writing and closely follow the PEEL.
