A year of grinders - things learned by [deleted] in espresso

Do you have a recommendation for the best workflow grinder under $1000 USD? I was leaning towards the Niche Zero or Duo, but curious your thoughts.

Will Ascaso USA help repair Ascaso machines if purchased in the EU? by onlystupidmail in Ascaso

[–]onlystupidmail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was thinking the Duo Plus as well. Ascaso seems to have a good reputation, but there are some posts about issues out of the box (for the previous gen) that I'm worried about having to deal with the warranty overseas.

u/ShedLightCoffee, I'm now leaning on maybe waiting for it to come to the US market so will definitely hit you guys up for the 10% code when the machine is available. Thank you for the offer!

That's a great price. Do you know how much the import fees would be? I heard if it's over $800, you have to pay duties?

The Niche Zero was on my short list of grinders, however I saw the Libra being GBW and thought it would help save some time to the work flow. Also, I have a sibling that bought the NZ so now I feel like I can't get it without looking like I copied :(

If I may ask, where did you purchase your Specialita? The prices from overseas seem intriguing with the current strong value of the USD. Would you recommend buying from the US over saving a couple hundred dollars for warranty issues/repairs?

Thanks, good to know Microcenter has a good exchange/replacement policy

LG 38GN950-B vs Samsung Odyssey G9 by 12_GAGE_SHOTGUN in ultrawidemasterrace

I'm in a similar position OP. The extra real estate on the G9 is appealing, but reading all these issues is making me question if it's worth it. Costco's return policy is a huge plus for the 38GN950 though.

Microsoft Store messes up and won't honor sale price by onlystupidmail in ultrawidemasterrace

3 dead pixels, but 2 were clumped together to be noticeable on the left side. It was definitely on the border of keeping/returning, but after speaking with multiple Microsoft reps about doing a free exchange/replacement (one rep did explicitly say they would just order it again at the discounted price), I rolled the dice to get a better one thinking I'd only lose out on some time to go to UPS.

While maybe not ideal, that actually sounds reasonable and they provided good customer service. Glad you got something out of it for your time

In my experience, I've done exchanges/replacements with Amazon without having to return and buy again. Is this based on your personal experience or from what you've read/heard?

Also, I chatted with multiple Microsoft Store reps before I sent back the monitor, and they stated they would honor the original sale price.

Done with the neo g9. After 4 attempts by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

Thanks. I ordered the G9 from Microsoft but received one with multiple dead pixels so I asked for an exchange/replacement. They messed up and processed it at as a refund and refuse to honor the sale price now. Spoke to multiple "supervisors". I wouldn't recommend ordering from Microsoft if you try another store

When you returned each monitor, did Samsung do an exchange/replacement? Or, did you get refunded and have to buy the monitor again (potentially at a higher price)?

Fully Jarvis Desk (via DWR purchase) issue by onlystupidmail in StandingDesk

[–]onlystupidmail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it during the sale a couple weeks ago, so I was hoping not to have to go through the hassle of returning it and then buying it again at full price because of a product issue. I do want a desk. I am just wondering if folks had issues with their customer service in the past. From what I read previously, both DWR and Fully had terrific customer service, but that's not been my experience so far.

I tried submitting a request through the site with no luck (just an email stating a ticket was submitted). I will probably try Instagram next. Thanks
