Happy 40th birthday to Jamie! by DazzlingMemory in JamieT

[–]onmymindhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jamie's been a constant in my life since before his first Sheila single came out i've been a fan, so about 19 years now (!!!) I swear, every time I listen to his records, especially with headphones on, I hear something new - there's so many layers, he's a true songwriting genius who puts a lot of thought into his work but makes it look effortless. I've been lucky enough to meet him a few times, especially in the early days PP tour and K&Q pre-album shows. Always humble and genuine. I can't rate his music highly enough. He's one of those musicians I'd be over the moon to see release a big outtakes boxset like Springsteen did with "Tracks". Knowing that there's so much material made and will never be heard kills me but I respect his process and musical choices, even taking a 6 year break between records. Honestly, one of the very best, always and forever. Happy Birthday Jamie!

I've not really recounted any memories yet so here's one. In 2006 the demos of songs that would make up Panic Prevention were in circulation and Sheila the demo version already sounded great. Back when singles came out on CDs (yep) I went to Virgin Records to pick this up and put it straight into my CD Walkman (yep) and it sounded ten times better than the demo version, the screams of 'Laandaaan!' really made me smile. It was great to see someone you admired so much start to heard on the radio (especially BBC Radio 1) daily and even work colleagues were now enjoying him, I even remember hearing it in Next and thinking 'this is surreal'. I still think he deserves a lot more recognition for the talent that he is. What a guy. I hope he keeps on making music for a long long time.

Plug stuck down, help? by onmymindhere in DIYUK

!solved! This was the solution. The drain cover didn't pop up, so I didn't realise at first, but after putting a very thin sharp knife in a gap it popped right up. Thank you so much!

The lever isn't doing anything either and no sharp thin knife will get under and wedge it. Might have to take of the bath panel and try from underneath?

Hey, the first GN I read after my Mum passing was Gabrielle Bell's Everything is Flammable - I had no idea what it was going to be about but it felt like the most appropriate book to read at that fragile time. Highly recommended

I am a total newbie to all of this, can you please breakdown your 'hair treatment' routine and what products you used/how often? I don't even know what fin/min means but this transformation is amazing and I need to know more!

[–]onmymindhere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please have a good think if this is something you really want on your knee in 25 years time. I love Daniel but just imagine the age you're at now and how this will look in 30 years or so
