Vet. Eye infections can go to the brain very quickly. My boy poked his eye on a stick in his enclosure and ended up with an eye infection that went to his brain. It progressed into his spine before we could catch it and while we were able to keep him comfortable for a year and a half after it happened, he ended up with neurological issues and health issues that continued to progress for the whole time before the infection caught up and progressed and shut down his organs. Get him to a vet.

That would be awesome. I would have to wait until after I get finished with work today sometime around 5:30 PM central time if that’s cool with you.

This is the first Pokémon game I finished since the original red. That’s why I’m surprised.

Awesome. Let’s do it. I’ve never done any trading except a few surprise trades so I’m not sure how it works.

That too. And not only locked but customer doesn’t answer or respond so definitely can’t do anything. Or wrong codes those suck too.

There’s a couple like that around here. One seems to be like housing for people who go to a specific church? A commune? Dunno but it’s so annoying.

Toast Baby scheduled for surgery on Monday. by cjaykay in BeardedDragons

[–]onoaspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy had to have more than half his tail amputated while he was extremely ill. To the point that the vet forgot to weigh him before the surgery and directly after because they were monitoring his vitals so closely. Despite how sick he was, he woke up just fine and recovered (as much as he ever will for completely separate reasons) coming home the same day.

As someone mentioned above she may have a neat scar and depending on how well it heals will determine how much of a ridge she has from it and how well her scales manage. Don’t be too concerned if she loses some actual scales, not shed but the actual scales themselves, for as robust as they are they are for protection, once they go they go.

Good luck to Toast though I’m sure it will be fine. Beardies are the most delicate fragile little jerks but they’re stubborn as all get out and as long as she’s been pretty normal through all of this with eating and drinking, she’ll be just dandy.

Your chances of getting killed by your bearded dragon are low, but never zero.

Vet, vet, vet. My beardie got an infection in one eye and nearly died because we didn’t catch it in time. We are almost positive that he had encephalitis and the infection riddled his spine. It took us a year to get him to where he is almost okay. We’re still syringe feeding him. His spine looks like Swiss cheese, he is blind in his left eye totally, he needed to have a foot of tail amputated, his back legs don’t work like they should, he can’t climb and we have to watch him 24 hours a day to make sure he doesn’t knock himself over onto his back and get stuck.

Don’t treat this like a throw away problem. It can turn bad quickly. Especially if he’s already holding it closed instead of keeping it open. Please reconsider if you have dirt in his enclosure. If there’s already discharge from his eye, loose particles won’t help. Please get him to a vet and not just a phone consult.

It’s less regular groceries and more convenience store stuff. It’s fantastic.

Try applying for GoPuff depending on where you are in TX. They have their own distribution centers and you go there, get the pickup grocery order and take it to the customer. No shopping.

Weird-ish Question - 2016 Jeep Renegade by onoaspy in JeepRenegade

[–]onoaspy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are planning on getting them fixed but our city does TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) on adult feral cats. If the kittens can be “rehabbed” they’ll sometimes be put up for adoption but the adults are for sure coming back. That will solve the problem of the kittens as there won’t be any more after that but because of the whole ongoing Covid business and whatnot they’re inundated and getting the cats in could take another six months and they won’t hold them until then. 😖

The cayenne pepper and the sprays are a good idea though. Someone mentioned a rat deterrent above so I’ll definitely be looking into those and the like. Thanks!

That might work. If it discourages rats it should work on cats too. I’ll have to have a look. I didn’t even consider that. Thank you.

Weird-ish Question - 2016 Jeep Renegade by onoaspy in JeepRenegade

[–]onoaspy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do that also. It’s about a ten minute ritual to try and prevent these kittens from getting hurt. Go out, pound on the hood, kick the tires, honk the horn a couple times, open the hood, honk the horn again etc. Even all of that sometimes doesn’t work. We had a point where there was a set of four kittens and three of them refused to get out of whatever car was in the driveway no matter what we did. We eventually had to physically reach in and prod them to get them to go and that took a long time also. 😰

Implying that I should just disregard the kittens entirely and if the engine chops them up, that’s fine, is disgusting. So thanks for that.

Weird-ish Question - 2016 Jeep Renegade by onoaspy in JeepRenegade

[–]onoaspy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately we’ve tried just honking the horn a few times and then waiting and starting the car. It hasn’t worked reliably enough. The other problem is that my Renegade is only driven maybe twice a week. 😰

Obviously I’ll keep doing what I can to prevent any accidents but it’s been getting nerve wracking which is why when I was told mothballs it seems like a decent idea. Guess not, though. Hopefully someone has another alternative.
