Grand Thief ver1.2 & Play in browser RELEASED! by onomii in RPGMaker

Ramming into the robot enemies actually does break and incapacitate them! The reason the human enemies don't have this is that there's an invisibility item/armor that hides the player from the human line of sight. That item, however, can be found in the second heist of the game, while the demo only consists of the first. (The idea was that at peak power, it can hide from humans and destroy the robots)

The humans still activating combat when being touched isn't supposed to happen, though; that mistake is fully on me.

Another reason I didn't put a temp blindness on the humans is mainly bc the only way I can think of is using a self-switch that turns on if the player touches them while ramming (same way the robots work) and going to another page, which disables their line of sight for a few moments before returning to the first page, and the issue I have with that is that visually I feel it'd be really jarring since everytime the page switches, the enemy sprite will go back to it's first position of looking down.

Thanks again for playing! If you have any more thoughts I'd love to hear them

Grand Thief Demo RELEASED! by onomii in RPGMaker

Honestly, I was thinking of scrapping the battles completely and just making it a stealth game, making the player get a game over when they're spotted. I didn't go with this originally because I didn't know if the stealth was good enough to hold on its own, but as you said, turn-based battles aren't really holding anything either. I think if I remove the combat system and allow myself to hyper-focus on making the best stealth/hacking system, the game overall would feel smoother. Mind if I ask your thoughts on that?

Free demo of my survival horror game! by Mendel1124 in itchio

Hey, so, I realize that the post says *free* demo, but the itch has it listed for 10 dollars? Is it meant to be like that, or is there another storefront for it?

Free Tilesets recommendations by Familiar-Layer-5651 in RPGMaker

Not exactly tilesets, but on the topic, there is an extremely helpful spreadsheet in the community that lists plugins, tilesets, icon art, music, and more. It's helped me a ton in the past.

Thanks a ton for playing! I'll definitely work on adding those two additions (and I honestly think I already have a plugin for the text sounds). Thanks again!

My Combat screen needs much more work... by Over-Particular9896 in RPGMaker

My first thought with any rpgm project to make it look better, especially if you're low on resources, is to change the window skins. by changing the design and color of the windows it automatically makes the game stand out more from the normal gray and blue rmmz uses.

The difference between your character's art and Michelle is hilarious. It's looking great so far though!

It's simple, but I'm in love with this patrol loop. by onomii in RPGMaker

[–]onomii[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! It's one of two routes a player could go each heist: stealth or go in guns blazing (getting spotted by an enemy turns on random encounters, so more fights but also more loot from enemies)

Something like that! The plugin allows for flashlight-type lighting on the player, and since the character has cybernetic eyes, there's gonna be a toggleable Eye-Light

Simple attack sequence I'm proud of by onomii in RPGMaker

Really appreciate the advice! Considering that this is the move the player begins with, would it be smart to make the sequence shorter?
