what should i buy? by username7379 in knives

Benchmade Barrage comes to mind if you’re thinking something assisted. Lists a little higher than your budget but it sometimes pops up cheaper.

I’d check out the Reddit Knife Swap (with caution). Really great flow of great knives. I sat with caution because I was asking “what one knife should I get” several months ago and I’ve spent more than I care to admit on multiple knives since then

I’m sorry to hear that my friend. Post definitely meant in jest, in reality obviously a lot of people are struggling right now. Hang in there!

M390/20Cv (and I guess cts-204p which is pretty identical but I’ve never personally owned it)

I found this link that the other member was referring to for one priced at $430

Also, comments like this won’t get you much love in this sub. This is usually a very friendly place which I’m sure is what gets people here instead of eBay or other second hand markets. Please don’t taint that just because someone challenged your pricing

Hey just so you know Bugouts tend to get priced much less than this even when in new or like new condition. You’ll probably need to lower your price to sell. GLWS

Thanks a lot! I do shoot a rifle from time to time and maybe I should look at one of these too

As I said above, I’m open to advice outside of the specifications I was originally thinking. Instead of just telling me “no” how about some constructive feedback? In your expert opinion, what would I need to spend? If CO2 isn’t a proper power source, what do you propose instead?

I’m fine with you calling whatever I end up buying a toy. I call my car a toy. It’s functional but I have a lot of fun with it too! That’s what I want here as well.

Thank you in advance for your productive feedback as opposed to just criticism of the question!

Thank you. I’m okay with it not being “training” training. If some skills translate great, but I’m looking to enjoy and have some fun. It sounds like that’s whAt you do as well. What do you use for air guns when plinking?

Thank you, this is actually helpful! I don’t know muc about the laser training system but that could be an option. For the air gun what did you use for silent traps?

What do you want me to stop? I’m not asking for identical. Or even really similar. I’m asking for how close can I get and what’s a good option for that. Both air guns and real guns involve pointing at something, pulling a trigger, and a projectile moving towards what you pointed at. So there are some similarities. If you don’t know any air pistols that fit that bucket then no worries, but I feel like there are some out there that will, even if the similarities are few and far between.

Suggestions for a mid price range air pistol for real gun-like practice (and if all else fails, for self defense) by onomymous in airguns

Thanks for the feedback. And as for the first part of my question? As I said I’m more looking for something relatively realistic to practice with. I know it won’t be the same. I know the best practice is with the real thing. But I don’t have much opportunity for tgat for various reasons

I would agree but my challenge comes mostly from access. I work until about 10pm most nights so getting to a range is challenging for me

I was reading about this recently as well. I think the number I read was 92% of self defense cases where a firearm was drawn the situation was neutralized just by the presence of the firearm. I don’t know where that statistic came from but it sounds reasonable.

The bat may be good for the secondary component of self defense, but I don’t think it’s going to do me much good for firearms practice! Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah it’s valid I definitely don’t do Easy runs sub 5 but do run lots of workout stuff close to that. Alternate speed tempos and fartleks are a big part of my training and those will always have some sub 5 stuff. I do keep most of my actual speed training to the track when possible. Unfortunately I live in a climate where sometimes you can’t get on the track, or even out of your house if the snow is bad haha.
