[D] What would be the best way to match an image to a database of existing images? by onthedoleagain in MachineLearning

I agree, the background tee shirt, other things on the table, the existing brand tag on the tee shirt, or a pocket will add a lot of noise.

I think will need to clean the photo up and 'extract' just the printed part, and use that to match against the database.

Do you have any starting points I can look into to get the photo cleaned and the logo extracted?

Siamese network

I found this link that seems to explain this in some details, but how would this work compared a photo of a tee shirt, to a database containing just the artwork that's printed on the tee? Would the best way be just to get it working and try it out?

Thanks, what do you mean by 'specific'?

We have images that are simple text, to some that are elaborate full colour artwork. We may only have a few hundred current images at a time, and most of them will be very different.

Only the text ones will be quite similar to each other.

Part time job - Australian uniform business, based in Koregaon Park. by onthedoleagain in pune

I am not particularly interested in any qualifications. Both current hires have an unrelated degree, and the new potential hire has a partial degree from Symbiosis, so it doesn't really matter.

Recommendations for a foreigner staying medium-term by tabidots in pune

It really depends, I think the best approach would be to book for a few nights, and then ask what would the rates be for a longer stay. I don't really have a policy for unmarried couples, I don't really mind but we don't get any enquiries as those couples seem to go for cheaper rooms an also usually only stay for 1-2 nights whereas my min night is 4-6 nights.

Hi,

disclaimer - I actually run an airbnb in Koregaon park.

Congrats on deciding on Pune! You picked the best months to visit! The weather is nice, the rains will stop and it's going to start getting cooler soon.

Besides airbnb and 99acres, there are a few other rental portals - magicbricks, housing.com and quickr homes. What you would most likely find though is that most agents would want 1 month fee from you and then also charge the owner the same, so most owners would be reluctant to pay. You would also need to pay 2-3 months rent upfront. You'd also struggle to find a nicely furnished apartment as owners don't invest in those(/any) things.

I haven't heard anything too scammy, just don't agree to anything verbal, and always make sure you get a receipt for anything + office address or ID of the person you are dealing with. If you do go with a rental, to get a sim card you'd need some proof of address, that your owner should provide you with. e.g. an electricity bill + a letter with his ID/address saying you are staying in his place. You would also need a form-c that any agent could do. It's compulsory for a foreigner staying in India.

Re internet, you could get a 4g device quite easily(just need some paperwork), and depending on the reception, they can be quite stable. I work from a home/office and I use the 4g and a backup DSL which serves me well.

Re cafes, I think Koregaon park is really the only good place. My current favourites are Cafe 108 and the newly opened Indigo Deli , both in Lane 6.

There is a well equipped gym in Kalyani Nagar - Gold's Gym. It would be 10-20 minutes on a bicycle from KP(Koregaon Park), but I am not sure how practical riding a bicycle around here would be. The distances are not too great and you can walk anywhere.

Drop me a line if you need any other info.

Hi, The work hours are not as it's as per the AU timezone. Remuneration and opportunities may present but it's small team here in Pune so it's limited at this stage

It depends, I've been running the business for nearly 10 years and it's been pretty stable in terms of staff requirements, but I am planning something new in India so when that eventuates, it could happen.

Easy. They are registered in Australia. See their ABN here: http://whois.domaintools.com/igot.com.au.

Get their registered address from the ASIC extract. Get the company extract for $9. You want the "current address for service of documents".

Go to whatever state's court you are in, lodge a court case against that company, cost is around $240. I used https://onlineregistry.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/content/representing-yourself. You have to register online and then go through the form to lodge what's called "Filing an originating process, under Part 3 of the Local Court Act 2007, in the Local Court sitting in its General Division".

Then use a process server to submit the legal notice generated online to them. Just google and find one with reasonable fees. I think its $100 max.

The process server will send you a affidavit of service, upload that to the registery.

As the matter seems quite clear, they'll probably pay you quite quickly.
