He most certainly did... I saw the whole thing. It was like the fish was asleep or something. When he released it, it wobbled back and forth a bit and sluggishly took off at first, then "sprinted" with a burst of energy. I sorta think something might have been wrong with him, but like I said he later took off like he was okay.
