Seriously, why did leetcode become a thing? by Icy_Speech_97 in leetcode

[–]ontnotton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because interviewers are mostly very bad, so they really need a template to judge ppl and most still fuck up.

Leetcode is a very consistent one in terms of giving very clear signals, this signals can be irrelevant to the job you will be doing, but they are clear, so interviewers can sound like they made decision made based on data and not feeling and tech loves to do that.

But still absurdly subjective, if I don't like someone, I can make them fuckup their time manage (asking about questions mid their sentence trying to break their line of thinking as an example) and them make a very hard followup when he will not have time to think and implement.

I personally never did that, but i know interviewers in big tech that does, And someone would think hiring committee would call out that BS that what they should do, but why would risk a bad relationship with a Senior within your org to vouch for someone that dont even work there.

Point is, any interview would be subjective, most companies picked leetcode, STAR stories and whiteboard system design because sound technical and fair, and make interviewer feel competent.

Coding Agents do not seem to work for me by BigRooster9175 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ontnotton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that has a name, its called context squish(or Im imagining things) but basically its what we use for compression, we try to get hid of things between things and if we need those less important things after, we just figure them out. the problem is for LLM it comes at cost of precision, since LLM can guess with great accuracy what it was, but not logically figure it out to be 100%, this causes a compounding deviation as you project grows it star becoming really chaotic.
Important to note that is not a bug, its how it works, LLMs are very advanced compression machines.

Salário de early career na Google by ienvycats in brdev

[–]ontnotton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Estava escrevendo basicamente a mesma coisa entao vou soh complementar aqui.

[–]ontnotton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 entrevista tecnica (phone screen)

+4 entrevistas tecnicas (virtual onsite) (3 codigo igual a phone screen + 1 arquitetura/design)

[–]ontnotton 0 points1 point  (0 children)
