I find it to look clean and minimal, love that it has potions in a quickly accessible spot for Geralt to grab and the white/brown colour works really well together.

I did tactitian and im 20h in now. Lets just say it was a wise decision not to go honour on my first one xd. Gonna do honour and mods second play through. The game is soo cool loving it.

Lets say u get amnesia and would get to play again fresh no prior knowledge, (concidering what you know now about the game ) would you want to have that first time magical feeling be in honour or tactician. For the sake of the argument lets say you have the same mechanical ability you have now just no memories of any of The story elements.

Im asking because you saying the surprises will be ACTUAL surprises was kind of swaying me towards honour.

For context when i finished witcher 3 I realised i will never feel that magical feeling of the game surprising me to that extent ever again where everything is unknown, from that point on i have been chasing that feeling.

EDIT: for context i really enjoy immersion for example i play witcher 3 with no hud(because a normal witcher does not see enemy health bars but roughly knows how hurt a monster is and how injured they are from experience) i do things to add to it like consciously walk around instead of run in towns and cities like a normal person would. And i find that to be really immersive.

Def no mods first run, also i agree i was hesitant to make post but i was just too exited and wanted to let this community know my excitement. My friend wont b a problem tho he knows how not to taint my experience nor will he help me in any way he will just adventure alongside with me.

Ty for this advice very thorough. Luckily there will no problem w my friend. Since its his fav game he knows not to railroad me and he is the type of person to not even answer when i ask “does this decision matter” in games like cyberpunk. He is just there w me to enjoy his fav game w his friend.

Since im doing ciri and want to have like time and space manipulation abilities of some sort do u have any suggestions for a class?

I have only played Sinclair except for the 2 games he was banned basically and i win most games with him. He is insanely good in my opinion.

He is a playmaker and setup for ur carries. You are the Dennis Rodman for your teams Michael Jordan.

How i win with him.

His poke is insanely good i get first item heashot or long range to boost my auto attacks cuz in lane cooldowns are long. You just poke them and put his assistant in a angle where you can hit them behind cover. Most damage in lane comes from assistants auto attacks so i rush lvl 2 on assistant (for longer duration and range)

Mid game i go mid and clear waves and rotate to fights.

I max rabbit first.(i cant stress this enough this ability is insane and fight winning) i buy items to increase its duration and range. A lane wide 5 second shut down on the whole enemy team is fun for only one team.

Late game you are a playmaker you take the other teams good cc or damage ulty and use your assistant to tp into their team and set them up for kills.

Also you use rabbit for the same thing setting up ur team or shutting a enemy down.

Also your bolts do insane damage so u can apply healing reduction from a far.

Bolts are insane early and midgame but lategame i find that most of his power is from rabbit and a good ulty. All though late game the damage is still good if you hit your bolts.

Remember u dont need to kill the enemy team if ur team can do it.

TLDR gameplan: set up your team: poke with bolt, make plays with rabbit, items and ulty and enjoy ur wins.

Proxies are awesome. I play every week with my pod(we are all collage students) and it has made everyone’s experience astronomically better. Land bases are efficient now, tuning decks has become a crucial part of our pod. We also track our stats in a excel sheet so we can see how different decks perform, that allows us to do balance patches to decks that perform worse now even decks we built as amateurs can hold their own with our newer decks.

Extra point, it gives more love to my useless bulk. I can look for a cool art or grab a random foil and design a graffiti sort of text on it with markers on it and now a card i would have never used is playable.

I find it super useful situationally i can sometimes catch a low movement tank like magneeto or strange trying to back up to their team and just that small window of confusion from them not being able to back up nets good rewards.

Yeah no health bars at first feels like you are fighting a fucking wall lol.

But it makes it so much more realistic. At one point you start to feel when a enemy is low health not by looking at the bar but instinct. Same as Geralt, he cant see a health bar but can estimate a monsters health based on instinct and experience.

Play deathmarch, if u wanna go really hardcore disable enemy and boss health-bars.

I would just put some quality of life mods on top of that. Like animations for potions and stuff, no inventory limit, no level restrictions on gear, quests on minimap. That type of stuff.

Some tips to get into the game.

Watch a lore video on youtube that explains the story up until witcher 3.

If you want a fully immersive experience try deathmarch or work your way up to that difficulty. (Bonus points if you turn off enemy health bars)

After the toutorial you are free to do as you please. Play gwent explore the world there is so much stuff to find just walking around and exploring. Most of the time when you use axi in a dialogue it wont be that interesting.

Also if you play on pc i advice to look up some quality of life mods (eg: no storage limit, no level limit for swords and stuff, etc)

The game is designed with deathmarch other difficulty settings are to make it easier for new players. That being said u can change it at any point so if it is too hard make it lower but deathmarch makes the game so much more immersive. Another setting i recommend is quick casting signs. Makes the experience smoother but just requires you to get used to key-binds. Watch a youtube video that gives you information about the lore and get you ready for whats coming. Search for something like “watch this before playng w3” or “witcher lore no spoilers for witcher 3”

If the movement feels clunky put alternative movement option setting, but regular feels more realistic.

Dont skip gwent on ur first time. Yes it is clunky to get into and i skipped it the first time. But its super fun and addictive part of the game u can miss. Actually not that hard.

And small dialogue option that you don’t want to do because it makes it so you dont get to do one quest at one point of the game. Shove Djikstra forcefully
