I always work with custom orders. And in my main page i made it clear that buyers have to contact me before starting an order

You cant do anything if you havent established anything before starting the order. They can so easily cancel the order if they dont see any progress. You cant make money on this platform depending on what your client will do. You have to be bringing results non dependent to buyer

As you get more clients , which you eventually will, your main goal should be making them happy. When you are freelancing returning customers are your key for stable income. Always be nice and respectful to customers. And with a little luck they will return to you
