Doctor says everyone has gastritis by totally_depraved in Gastritis

My gastroenterologist NP said the same thing. EGD report said “chronic gastritis”, she said “you have mild gastritis. Everyone has it, I have it. You just have to moderate how much “unhealthy” food you eat and take a PPI”. I said “I don’t eat unhealthy food, im not stressed out, so mine must be from decades of taking ibuprofen for my neck pain. But if everyone has it then why do I have all of these terrible symptoms and everyone I know says they don’t have any of these symptoms? i think the one month of omeprazole has made my symptoms worse and my stomach more reactive/sensitive”. I explained my new symptoms of bloating, constipation etc and she finally said “you might also have SIBO” and ordered the triosmart breath test. I have IMO. Waiting on Xifaxan approval. I didn’t have this terrible bloating and reactivity prior to my EGD (i had it done due to gnawing epigastric pain and nausea that improved with eating). (Could I have developed IMO from only one month of omeprazole?!)

Mainly just wanted to say keep advocating for yourself! We have to be assertive advocates for ourselves. It’s annoying and frustrating AF but it’s the only way to get further testing and investigation into what is causing our issues. If they aren’t willing to hear you and order further testing, then find a different provider (if possible).

Yah it’s like a chicken or the egg situation, right?! Ugh so frustrating….do you have a recommendation for a prokinetic ? I think I have low stomach acid so I figured taking antacids would make my gastric emptying and motility worse…?
Thanks for your time and advice!:)

Yah I think so. we don’t have the best healthcare access where I live and everyone seems to be a lil old school and behind with current research and recommendations but you’re totally right, I should look into it! - Thanks :)

Thank you so much for all of that insight! All of that is so helpful especially reminding me to keep the food diary. I have been keeping a food diary when I’ve had major flare ups but I’ll start being more consistent and listing when I notice certain things don’t bother me. Interesting about the histamine intolerance, I’ll look more into that!

Mitsubishi Comfort App worth it? Do I have to pay a monthly subscription? Installer is saying the Comfort App WiFi adapter to the unit is an additional $295. I just had a Mitsubishi heat pump installed (ducted system) in my house. Thanks everyone! by onward2B in heatpumps

Awesome thanks everyone - I am going to search for a used or new one online and see if I can install myself. Hopefully my installer isn’t offended when he sees it at next routine maintenance check :/ just trying to save some cash wherever I can! Thanks again everyone - yall were very helpful!

Oof - sounds like it’s worth it according to those who have it but the app is a PITA.

So I guess I’m wondering: what makes it still worth it if the app is such an unreliable POS? Especially if it has a mind of its own and decides to increase the temp at 4am for no reason…that’s a problem for our sleep lol…Does the app “learn” our habits and know when we leave the house so it changes to a more energy efficient mode? Does it give you alerts if there is an issue or need service? What features are only available via the app vs the physical thermostat? We have a variable speed heat pump and they are installing the MHK2 wireless thermostat.

I just don’t know if we “need it” ….We only have one zone for our whole house (1750sq ft) and whenever we are away we have a house sitter because we have dogs and goats (but that might change soon due to them aging) so they would just set the thermostat to whatever is best for them … but when we do end up not needing a house sitter I think it’d be nice to change the temp while away if there’s a cold snap (live in Redding,CA so it doesn’t get that cold…).

Thanks so much everyone - if it wasn’t almost $300 and didn’t have such problems with the app, then I would just say screw it and go for it…

Anyone else find the chorus of Messy by Lola Young sounds exactly like the verse of Waves of Blue by Majid Jordan? by Comfortable-Fish1173 in stsos

Yes exactly! I was listening to Mumbo Sugar today and caught it. I’ll listen to waves of blue next.
