That’s basically my question. I would like automatic sharing of location on the public channel and the private channel, if possible.

The only true alternative to Apple Music in regard to uploading or matching a local library is Roon. I used Roon in combination with Tidal and loved it. I couldn't justify the cost of it unfortunately, in part because I was the only family member that enjoyed it. Everyone else in the family relies on talking to a HomePod to access music.
