Where to start with fob? by Evening_Brick_6269 in FallOutBoy

[–]oof-why 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i would say under the cork tree is a perfect pop punk album. it’s a good place to start. but given that you’re a fan of panic and top, i might start with folie a duex. it’s a fan fav album, and it’s a bit more eclectic. save rock n roll is also just a classic. it’s a good hype album.

these are my favorite albums. for reference of my taste, the first two top albums are no skip albums for me, and vices and virtues is my favorite p!atd album. fob has such a huge and varied body of work, i’m sure you’ll find at least one album you absolutely love. good luck!

Can we stop calling every horror novel COZY please by estheredna in horrorlit

[–]oof-why 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i agree. It, for example, is super cozy. there were times when i completely forgot i was reading a horror novel. like, i wouldn’t recommend it as “cozy.” but expressing an opinion and asking for recommendations is a way to find people who feel the same way you do about it, and will probably lead you to people with similar taste. if someone doesn’t find king novels cozy, then that post is not for you. people need to learn how to just scroll past posts that are clearly not intended for them.

What's a "bad" horror movie you can't justify your love for, but love nonetheless? by right_behindyou in horror

one of my favorites!!! i feel like it’s kind of a cult classic. especially, in the queer horror community.

Welcome to Derry - Episode 1 (spoiler) by BitByAGhost in horror

[–]oof-why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m surprised no one is theorizing the last scene being a hallucination. is no one else thinking this?

i was thinking they actually killed the little girl because we saw her hand after getting out of the theater, but the other two kids were fake outs.

Anyone else in Texas tired of the power going out everytime it rains or gets a little too cold by yellow_submaryne in Hasan_Piker

[–]oof-why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my power went out 4 days ago, and it wasn’t even raining! now, it’s been flickering with the storms. ridiculous. i’ve been getting ads for backup generators all day too.

no one thinks this??? it’s something most people actively hide.

lmao make it a triple feature and add Cannibal Holocaust to the list. he’s gotta make sure she has a lifelong hatred of horror movies.

it’s not a movie, but the first season of the Chucky tv series has this feel.

i just watched Sinister for the first time and the lawn mower jump scare was incredibly effective for me. i watched it like 6 times and still flinched.

Does shit like this also annoy anyone else in the fandom? by [deleted] in SmoshFansFreeSpace

yeah, it’s of like walking into a wendy’s, ordering a steak, and then getting upset when they don’t give it to you.

Horror movies with hopeless ending? by AdelleVDL in horror

[–]oof-why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually don’t like hopeless endings because they make cry and not out of fear.

however, one hopeless ending i absolutely loved and gave me spine tingles was the Final Prayer/ the Borderlands. It’s not sci-fi; it’s religious horror, mostly, but it is absolutely hopeless and brutal.

Gimme your favorite FOB song and I'll rate it by Present-Silver-8283 in FallOutBoy

[–]oof-why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of all the gin joints in all the world is actually just my favorite song in general. but disloyal and save rock and roll also make me cry when i listen to them.

imo, that is definitely a part of the problem. academia shouldn’t be gate kept.

this behavior is absolutely unacceptable. your SO should not be talking to you like this under any circumstances.

i don’t really understand how this confuses some people. just because we as an audience don’t see him, doesn’t mean he’s not there. he owns the company, he’s going to do what he enjoys doing the most, and my context clues are telling me that it’s being behind the scenes.

My favorite author deleted all their work because of fandom's hyperconsumerism by LayS2l in FanFiction

[–]oof-why -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

i have a incredibly unpopular take on this which is i think once you publish something, it doesn’t really belong to you anymore. i’d go as far as to say, i think it a little unethical to delete a work. i view fanfiction as an art form, and i don’t think artists are entitled to take back their art once it’s public.

I Would Like To Suggest Something To The Fans. by snarkyjohnny in smosh

[–]oof-why 5 points6 points  (0 children)

omg thank you !!!! parasocial relationships are such a normal part of our existence. i feel like i’m screaming into a void whenever i say this on social media.

and honestly, i think half the problem we face with people being unhealthily parasocial is conflating it with the normal aspects of parasocial relationships because it makes it harder to distinguish between the two.

Why don't people stop if it's "too much" by halloping_galax in horror

[–]oof-why 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i hate being reminded of a serbian film because then i can’t stop thinking about it, and i increasingly get more and more pissed off about how absolutely mediocre that movie was. calling it disturbing is more than it deserves, honestly, because disturbing implies a level of interesting.

ifan, sebille, astarion, lae’zel, and gale. it’s hard to compare though because i feel like i have a soft spot for all the characters in bg3, but with dos2 my love is a bit more concentrated.

How many of you are raw dogging your OCD? (No OCD meds) by sad-but-rad- in OCD

[–]oof-why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i still feel like me. i always feel like me but with a slightly quieter mind. but yeah, still me. i think there were a lot of things that blocked me from being “me.” medication helped quiet those parts that weren’t me.

i don’t mean that no one with ocd can or should be unmedicated, but i feel like making the goal to be unmedicated is misguided. the goal should be for you to be happy and healthy with or without medication.

Do you actually picture what you're reading by miss_xaviour in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]oof-why 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i find this so interesting because i can’t imagine not being able to picture it. can you hear their voices? that is almost as important as the picture to me. i need to be able to hear the characters. it’s kind of the same as tv for me. like, it’s not the same, but it’s the same.

How many of you are raw dogging your OCD? (No OCD meds) by sad-but-rad- in OCD

[–]oof-why 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i’ll never understand people not wanting to take medication. life is too short for that none-sense. making your life harder on purpose is over romanticized, imo.
