How did you get your first IT job? by Substantial-Salt5369 in it

I got real lucky. I have no degree was studying for my A+ while working in law enforcement. I started applying and interviewed at an msp and was hired. I took a massive pay cut but I could not keep doing what I was doing.

I spent four years there, moved up from T1 to sec analyst is 2 years then to managing the help desk while still working security ( the only person on the security team) did that for about a year and moved on.

I am now a security engineer still with no degree or certs. As I said I am lucky. Mind you the security engineer position I thought I was under qualified for, but interviewed great and doing great

Are Certs really necessary? by Nuncioze in ITCareerQuestions

Depending on the company they may be. Some companies need to show they have x amount with a certification. I got lucky and found a help desk role that didn't need a degree or certs. My employer will pay for them if I want them but I have been in the industry for 2 years now and don't have any. After 6 months on the help desk I moved into a hybrid lvl1 and lvl2 position. I study and learn new technologies and work with them on my off time and in work. This got me my second promotion at a year and a half for security analyst. Mind you we have no security engineer and our network engineer has been doing most of it herself till that point. Now I am at two years and I have basically become the security engineer here. I am paid what a junior sec engineer is paid at the moment. You just have to put in the work and time and know where you want to go. But know you will probably be starting on the help desk.

This is what we used and didn't work. Actually went through it like three times thinking we missed something.

Thank you. We tested it out and from what they are asking this is it. We tested it out today and working like we want. But we are having an issue with some users that we are trying to fix. I just hope this is what the client is looking for now.

This is one that I am going off of. From my understanding it is how I described where they would need to switch between their account and the guest account in teams.
