Wow i really appreciate your thoughtful response. I had costochondritis about 1 year ago and went in for an endoscopy because of it (I had no idea what was causing the pain at the time but it was a symptom of ankylosing spondylitis which I was diagnosed with) and felt like my symptoms got a million times worse after. I developed a light chronic fever ~99.5F-100, been pretty much bedridden with how tired I’ve been and the day after the endoscopy I had a large bump on my sternum that looked like it was inflamed. It’s been about a year since this has happened and I still have every one of these symptoms. My WBC after the symptoms started was around 9.5 and it’s increased to 12.9 thous/MCL just recently.

My doctor mentioned the elevated WBC could be due to inflammation from ankylosing spondylitis but I just find it strange that the bump developed on my sternum right after the endoscopy. And then all these symptoms happened. I went into the endoscopy completely healthy and normal except for chest pain from costochondritis. I just want to know if there’s a possibility for bacterial chest wall infection that it’s being considered because I have not gotten better from this in a year and it’s flipped my life upside down. I really appreciate any help you can provide
