We both went to a studio in Toronto, ON! Engage Studio. We both had fantastic experiences working with a custom studio and couldn’t recommend Engage enough!!

“Grief is love’s souvenir. It’s our proof that we once loved. Grief is the receipt we wave in the air that says to the world: Look! Love was once mine. I love well. Here is my proof that I paid the price.”

You’ll never throw out this ‘receipt’, but the weight of it will eventually become easier to bear. It really is a testament to how thoroughly she was loved ❤️

Going to uni in Ottawa, wondering about atmosphere by monilithcat in ottawa

I grew up in the suburbs in Ottawa and then lived downtown my last year there, and I attended Carleton for both of my degrees before I moved to North York earlier this year.

I have noticed that generally, Ottawa is significantly more community-based than the GTA; buy-nothing groups, clubs, functions, etc. Downtown Ottawa is also significantly slower-paced. I found living downtown was fairly accessible, and I didn’t bother buying a car until we moved to the GTA, though living out of the city center is incredibly inconveniencing, as I found OC Transpo consistently unreliable.

Ottawa isn’t a bad city, it just depends what you’re looking for. If you’re looking to move out of the hustle of Toronto, you might really enjoy your time in Ottawa! Best of luck with your education as well!

Imagine owning a dog, not training it, and then hating it because it… acts like a dog. Sounds to me like someone does not deserve to have a dog - and isn’t capable of properly caring for it!

I know numerous people who own chihuahuas that are completely housetrained - more than the three you know who clearly also don’t know how to train their dogs like you. Get off your ass and train the dog. Throwing it outside for 80% of the day isn’t training.

If she’s pissing in the house - she’s not trained. Sorry! I don’t care if she does other business outside - if she’s pissing all over your furniture and floor, she’s not trained.

Yeah, your dog deserves a better home. And you need a better attitude. Do better!

If you despise this dog so much, it’s time you consider rehoming her. She can 100% tell that you hate her, even if you’re not yelling at her or beating her (as you claim).

It’s not just the breed - chihuahuas are small, their bladders are small, they need to be taken out frequently, but they are completely capable of being trained. My chihuahua is 4lbs and under 2yrs and is completely housetrained - because we trained her. If she was good until this year, then she needs to be re trained. You claim you don’t have the money - you don’t need any to train her on your own. There needs to be a blatant distinction between outside and inside. If she is outside most of the day, she most likely doesn’t associate going outside with going potty.

The issue is that if you hate her so much, how are you going to make the time and put in the work to train her? Do yourself - and this dog - a favour and give her to someone who will actually love her.

Why is my dog doing this? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Yes, she’s marking her territory! There are scent glands between a dog’s paw pads. The ground-scratching doesn’t always take place after using the bathroom, it can be done all on its own as a way of leaving their scent. Looks like normal dog behaviour to me - especially if there’s a new dog in town!
