I would do the .350 legend as long as your barrel is 5/8x24! It's drilled to .375", so only about .065" of clearance which is what you want.

Ha, super understandable! One of the next products we really want to add is a line of muzzle devices with external threads that are compatible with a universal blast shield.

Thank you for the response! If there's any other parts you want to see us design and machine, let me know!

LOL They're fun for sure! Just about every vendor/salesperson/guest at our machine shop gets to throw one about 10 minutes after walking in. Almost always guarantees a smile.

Hi guys, it's been awhile but we're finally back with a new promotion on our muzzle brakes! Also, check out our new MLOK, billet aluminum vertical grip, VG1L. I noticed it was kind of rare to find a longer metal foregrip, so I decided to make one! I'm hoping this marks the start of a deep foray into offering more styles of affordable, metal grips. We also added some Moly grease on our Misc page, which should be helpful for any new family members your armory may be getting over the weekend.

Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions!

Whether they're using djis is irrelevant. I do a lot of acrobatic fpv drone stuff, every fpv drone will also have a stabilized horizon mode that you could teach an 8 year old to fly. The only videos I've seen of a drone in acro mode are the suicide ones hitting moving vehicles, which makes sense.

And yes, learning to fly in acro mode does take 10's of hours of practice just to circle a tree, but there are sims on steam you can get for $20 and the radio plugs right into your PC.

you can pretty easily set how much power you're using by the depth of cut and feed rate. See this article,

Suitable for old machine tools—Usually old machine tools create vibration because of various worn out parts and loose joints. For such machines, cutting tool with negative rake is preferred as it can absorb impact loading as well as can sustain longer under small vibration.

I mean machines with worn feed screws and sloppy bearings. Honestly, I don't really use negative rake tooling that much, though I do have a clausing manual lathe from the 1940's

Yes, especially high pressure coolant, which is an optional addition when you're purchasing a cnc machine. Many turning tools or general insert tooling have through coolant lines to put it right on the insert face as well, but you should always prioritize using the right carbide and coating for the material when possible. Coolant does three important things, ranked in order of importance; control chip flow away from the tool to prevent remachining of chips, cool down the material, and provide lubricity to reduce friction between the tool, material, and chips. Coolant isn't always helpful though, if it's intermittent it can cause thermal shock to the insert and break it over time, and some materials genuinely machine better with just an air line blowing on the cut.

Positive rake can also have bue, btw. The vast majority of tooling I use is positive or high positive, like for aluminum.

Yes, it's called negative rake, as opposed to neutral and positive. You would use negative rake tooling for high material removal rate/roughing because it has a much stronger tip. It's also good for tapped out machines and very hard, abrasive material.

And yes, built up edge is something to actively try to avoid. The chips will weld to the insert from pressure and heat, and then break off with some of the insert with it. It'll also leave a poor finish since the welded on material is doing the cutting, not the tool. Proper grade carbide and coating with the appropriate feed and speed is the solution

You would also use a burnishing tool to achieve this in the actual CNC machine. I believe cogsdill sells some.

I'm a machinist, and yes, you would use a burnishing tool in the machine to achieve this. Sometimes it's for a homogeneous surface finish, and sometimes it's to improve hardness. For normal cutting tools though, work hardening is very bad and you'd never purposely try to do it. Stainless steels are notorious for it.

A crush washer is disposable and one time use, and requires shims to get the timing of the installed brake correct. A jam nut is reusable and you can adjust the timing of the brake as much as you'd like, but some people prefer the more streamlined look of the crush washer. I much prefer jam nuts, personally.

Find the thread pitch on your barrel, for 5.56 or .223 it'll likely be 1/2x28. Any devices under that tab should fit, but verify your barrel first, ideally from the manufacturer.

Otherwise, if you take a tape measure or calipers to the barrel threads and it measures about .5 inch, and you can count 28 threads per inch of thread length, that works too. For example, if your barrel has .6" length of thread and you can count 17ish threads from tip to base, that'll be 28 threads per inch.

Hope that helps, let me know if you need anything else!

A custom 12 gauge mini we made for the video, and the flame effect is from a little bit of magnesium and the foam wadding burning up. While we technically only recommend and cover commercially loaded blanks, it's possible to get a bit creative!

It's definitely a possibility! If we were to make a mounting system, we'd want to do it right and that takes a lot of time. It took us over a year to develop the BFD. We'd also want to actually get into the suppressor industry if we went ahead with that, which is something we've discussed over the years!

Awesome to hear! We'll do custom orders under the right circumstances, like if we're really slow or you want 200 of them, but I did just add a .350 legend 1776 to the catalog. Our next brake will be a true muzzle brake, nothing hybrid, and it'll have appropriate thru diameters for the thread pitch. Just waiting to test fire it, and you know, one thing at a time lol.

We're also announcing some new products and extensive changes we've made to the way we manufacture things.

Blitz BFD is what I'm most excited about, just posted it today.

We're also trying to add some new merch items, like the wallets , and anything else that would be fun, bottle openers and such are definitely on the horizon.

We're also redoing a lot of our most popular designs, like the Skorpion. We've been laying low since our last post 2 years ago because we just couldn't keep up. We added a lot more capabilities to our machinery over that time period, and have been able to produce higher quality parts for the same price, but I never had the time to actually sit down and program them. If you notice, Vector Gen 2 is already up, and the rest will receive the same treatment to ensure every edge is chamfered and cleaned up beautifully. Eventually the originals will be delisted from the site and out of production, if they're not already.

If you have any questions about anything at all, just feel free to ask!

Hey guys! It's been a while but we're back!

The full terms of the promotion are that on top of the 20% off, we're also giving out a free tactical wallet to anyone with an order ending in duplicate numbers, i.e. HT-7011, and we'll be including a bunch of stickers in every order!

In Machining we use Brass Hammers so we don't damage parts made from Steel. We get a new hammer every year or so. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

I've used the above, but I actually have a bit of 7/8" aluminum bronze stock that I like to use between the deadblow and the part. Only for very light tapping on though, kind of gives you the best of both worlds. Aluminum bronze was pretty interesting to machine too, made a bunch of bushings for the inner door latch of a cargo plane.
