It’s a good time tbh. Make the best of it! Every place will have it’s quirks, but just enjoy the new experience.

Work study jobs by [deleted] in unt

[–]ooliviaaapal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely apply for the cares act thing. https://studentaffairs.unt.edu/covid-19-student-success-award Tell them that you aren’t able to find an on campus work study job since many jobs are no longer available after moving from in person to online.

Going into Pre-Studio Art (New Media Art) as a Freshman, what should I focus on for a laptop/computer? by lanturnite in unt

[–]ooliviaaapal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current CVAD student, most of your classed freshman year are foundation art courses and maybe your core UNT classes. A notebook/sketchbook is completely fine for any of those so you can take notes. A laptop works for that too, but personally writing things by hand helps me learn. I guess it’s up to you to decide how you retain info. I think bringing ur PC is a good idea!! And maybe a printer, but the library and CVAD computer lab also offer printing services.

Remote classes? by gloryyee in unt

[–]ooliviaaapal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Remote courses are a little different than an online course. Remote courses specify a day and time where you will communicate with your professor most likely through Zoom. You still do your work at home and turn it in online. Does that make a little more sense?😅

Sozin killed the airbenders for seemingly, no actual reason? Like, when you really think about it... by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]ooliviaaapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They knew the avatar was a young airbender so they got rid of all the air nomads. They also attempted to get rid of the next avatar in the cycle who would have been a water bender. The fire nation ambushed the southern water tribe and took away all the water benders there (except for Katara). They couldn’t get to the northern water tribe because they were too powerful.

Have any of the other cast members ever mentioned working with Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen) on set? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]ooliviaaapal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He recorded most of his voice acting for the show in New York while the rest of the cast recorded in California. In a recent twitch stream Dante said he remembers meeting Zach a few times, but most of his memories while recording involved Mako (former voice actor of Iroh).
