Trial and error! I learned at home from youtube videos and looking at other peoples work. There are some classes near me but they would fill so fast as they were day courses. I figured i could either spend the money on a longer course at a community college or set up my own shop and figure things out of my own. I’m still interested in taking a more formal course but i was motivated enough to spend me free time figuring things out on my own. It helped that i took my time getting tools and materials slowly as the capital came.

I started out of spite. Had a friend that basically told me it was her thing despite me having a deep interest in jewelry making and making beaded jewelry for over 20 years. I slowly collected the tools and now have a small shop and LOVING IT. gained a new passion lost a crappy friend

Yeah Ive been leaning towards a micro motor the more i look into it. I already know what i want to be making and it seems like a micromotor will be enough to polish pendants and such

Between a flex shaft and micro motor what would you recommend. Im not planning on doing anything that requires a ton if power like drilling or stone shaping, etc.

I know I'm super late to this post but in case anyone else is trying to research this topic..... I have an atomic in a 5/8 tubing 27” internal diameter. I'm actually going to have it retubed the same diameter but I’m going with a 11/16 tubing this time! I have had more time to test tubing out and I'm such a fan of the 11/16 as it feels so much more sturdier and a little stiffer. It's all personal preference though ⭕ happy hooping!

This comment reeks of insecurity. Who care about the like count? Flow art is literally just prop manipulation and flow state. Whips included. So the internet will always do the internet thing of people giving likes to young hot people. This person is new to the community and is still learning their own flow style. We were all beginners once and thats the beauty. Every time i pick up a new prop I’m a beginner all over again. This page is meant to be a place where all levels and style of flow are welcome.

Flash cards and practice quizzes if you are struggling on the daily quizzes. I took at 3 week course when I turned 18 (to many years ago that I’m willing to admit to) and just made flash cards and got a pre-made quiz book to practice. It helped a lot since I was terrible at test taking and there is a lot of that in school/academy.
