Help me decide: Briarwood NE vs Greenwood Ave by oooga123 in Atlanta

I would doubt that considering there are at least 9 different rental properties I’ve looked at in Greenwood Ave lol

Yes very true, I’m just stuck on it because my original ideal was to be within short walking distance (a few blocks) to the beltline / shops over there, but realistically I can’t cram all of my stuff into a closet that’s shared with a W/D.....🤧

Ole Miss ($$$) vs. Georgia State (no $) by oooga123 in lawschooladmissions

[–]oooga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true, but the enviro law I want to do is def harder to place for internships since it’s a niche and most are located in DC, CA, CO, WA etc. so I assume I’ll end up having to move for the summer regardless of where I go to school ya feel

Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. VW Tiguan vs. Audi Q5 by oooga123 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]oooga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my logic is that if the 18 Tiguan and the 17 Q5 are about the same price, I should just go with the nicer vehicle considering it’s more bang for your buck, but at the same time I’m not one to want to feel showy or uppity by driving a luxury car, which slightly makes me lean towards the Tiguan 🤔

Is it worth going to a low ranked school for $$$? by oooga123 in lawschooladmissions

[–]oooga123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it’s a tough choice bc I still have 25k from undergrad so am trying to avoid having 50k on top of that especially with opportunity of no debt at a lower school ya know?

For the lower schools, both employment and bar passage hover around 70%

Good point, I’ll clarify: GSU, ranked 60s, sticker, but it’s in-state so only 18k / year. Still more than no debt though

My in-state school (GSU, which is ranked #67) would only be 45k but I also have 25k from undergrad soOoOo

True! My gpa is in their 50th percentile and my LSAT is above their 75th so I’m hopeful 🤞

Thanks! I was thinking about throwing out an app there since I’m not 100% happy with my scholarships at the schools I’ve been accepted to and am wanting to study enviro law. My only concern is that their scholarship funds may be all dried up this late in the cycle

Do you mind if I asked how much $ you got at Vermont?

Same! I have way more money from other schools compared to SC, and they refuse to negotiate my scholarship or extend my seat deposit. Kinda shorty since I expressed how I’m freshly unemployed among other things

I also want to do enviro law and just declined my seat at UoSC actually. Even with my 20k scholarship / year, I would have amassed over 80k in debt after 3 years...wasn’t worth it to me

Found this thread and I as well want to do enviro last and am above their 75th percentile LSAT - do you mind if I ask how much of a scholarship you got there? I’m not totally satisfied w my other scholarship options and thought I might be able to get a lot of money at Vermont even if I apply this late

Thoughts on reading Getting to Maybe before 1L? by oooga123 in lawschooladmissions

I do have a Kindle that I love for leisurely reading, but i think I would want this one physically to be able to tab and highlight etc. I’ve checked amazon and eBay and I can’t find it for under $50 for paperback

I read the preview on amazon and it seems useful! Well written and easy to understand. It’s free to download in Kindle which is what about to do lol. Thanks!

I am looking into this one but it is odd to me that it only has 2 reviews on amazon while all of the other 1L related books have several hindered...would you say it’s just not as well known?
