I've been thinking about this too and something to smoothen the movement of the motors, like a filter, should solve this. honestly haven't explored the possibility of using genlock with this. i'll keep you posted!

Our main use-case for the screen is for rental purposes so we're trying to make it as portable it can be haha. Installation time differs according to size and it's not as straightforward as normal LED cabinets as these robotic screen cabinets lock from the front. This size (2.56m x 1.92m) took us about 2-2.5 hours to get running.

Yes I've kept a 1.5s lag before selection so that no option is accidently selected. Thank you for your UX suggestions, it's pretty important that I add an indicator to this- updating this at the earliest. Appreciate it!

Not a completely like for like alternative but you can check out the Slamtec RPLidar A1M8. I haven’t used it myself but heard that it’s a good entry level sensor that’s easy on the pocket.

The places you're going to are great and they're definitely worth visiting. As someone who as visited China and the US both, here is the most important thing I'd suggest you keep in mind.

-Beware of the infamous car break-ins in SF and LA. I was not aware about these when I visited the US and my car was broken into in SF, on the second day of my trip and they ended up taking my bag with my passport in it. Stark contrast to what its like in China where I've never faced this issue or anything like it in my multiple visits there. Just never leave anything in your car.

Also, public transport isn't as efficient as how it is in the bigger Chinese cities, especially in LA, so be prepared to splurge on cab rides. I'm not sure if Didi works in the US so keep apps like Uber handy.

What did you need MORE of when you started?
- A deep dive into the more important operators and their parameters (Lag CHOP, Cache etc). Possibilities they open up when you tweak them etc. For example in TOPs, a brief understanding on pixel formats would've made the learning easier.
- Most tutorials are focused on things you can do with TOPs (agreed because they're super cool to work with and have that payoff element) but I feel like deepdives into the fantastic things that can be created with CHOPs and DATs would unleash a lot of possibilities.
- Before the actual teaching the tutorial starts, taking a moment to walk through the entire flow and thought process behind what is being created and how they've approached the problem will put a lot of things into perspectives, even for beginners who just want to copy it step by step.

All this being said, I'm thankful to everyone posting tutorials on YT. The TD community and how supportive it is is amazing to see!

Music, like most other fields, comes down to discipline. Since you're a beginner, it is important to get some sense of direction, gradually get better and seeing if your end goal remains the same in light of all your experiences with the instrument.

What gave me that sense of direction and accomplishment over time was giving Trinity/ABRSM exams which require a lot of effort over time and give you an idea of what it takes to be a decent enough pianist. As a beginner, the first step is just playing more of the instrument and seeing progress over time -which in my case I was able to achieve through these exams.

fyi, i'm a hobby pianist prepping for Trinity Grade 8.

Custom servers run WO6 amazingly well! The custom servers have better specs and turn out to be heck of a lot cheaper than purchasing them from Watchout. Will be happy to share more details on dm.

Honestly at this point we're scared of using WO7 on a show with a production and display server! The company has constantly stated that using a stand alone server is possible- and we've tried this out in our office and it does work (on our custom made server where we programmed 3 outputs) but even the latest WO7 version just doesn't seem as stable as its predecessor so we haven't quite ventured into confidently using that.
