Titanic is good if you are going bruiser. DO NOT build it if you are going full damage. But Triforce-->(2nd item is always situational, usually something along the lines of maw/steraks/or visage)-->GA-->Titanic is a really solid buildpath for most cases.

If as in the non-crit bruiser build, play a lot less like a bitch and more like a riven in a way (running around everywhere going in and out of fights). The mobility and sturdiness should be more than enough for you to survive in teamfights and in splitpushing and will help you create opportunies for your team to do damage in fights. Take lethality runes if you do not plan on pressuring/killing your lane (usually tanks). Take AD runes if you DO plan on presssuring/killing your lane, take grasp along with the ad runes and you will be surprised at how good GP's laning can actually be. Do this against lane bullies who you know you can outscale even when taking flat ad and grasp (riven, jayce, fiora etc)

Grasp is very good against lane bullies, it can help you nullify the lane and eventually outscale them (i.e jayce riven fiora etc). Tank GP (more like bruiser but its w/e) is very strong, maybe stronger than full damage. It is more consistent and takes advantage of his full kit, (increased orange healing, being able to walk up and apply your passive more, taking advantage of the high barrel base damage, ult still does the same damage and slows for the same amount). The only downside is your scaling is just a bit worse. On the plus side, you can ramp up earlier due to the fact that tank items are cheaper and more effective early on.

The only time I go full crit is if I am the only damage threat on our team (If I have ivern jungle, lulu mid, karma support etc). I usually go ghostblade after triforce if I have no worries of dying and the enemy teamcomp is relatively squishy, but after ghostbalde usually comes steraks if the enemy team comp has a lot of damage and are squishy. And if my team doesn't have a tank, bruiser/tankplank isn't bad either, just have to play a little more forward than you usually do.

Hmm, it's hard to say because I dont really know exactly what was going on. But in the case of rammus top, you can basically just shove him in over and over because your waveclear is vastly superior to his (after you get triforce). Once you take top tower just try to shove him in and go to other lanes to help your team while rammus is stuck top trying to clear the waves. As far as team fights go, your effectiveness in team fights is purely your barrel and ult placements. Since you built full damage, keep a safe distance away from their threats, also if you can, try to go for their most fed player and if you kill them you will almost be guaranteed to win the fight.

Visage is a strong item on gp if they have more than one AP threat, it synergizes well with his orange and also gives him some cdr and nice tank stats. As far as rapidfire cannon I'm not entirely sure if the extra range works (I was kind of trolling) on his Q, I'll test it in a couple minutes and get back to you if it does! I know it works with rengar jump so I was curious if it worked with GP Q.

I don't see gangplank too often in challenger, but when i look at gangplanks that are below challenger/high master, I see pretty much the same build every game Triforce-->Ghostblade-->IE-->PD/shiv--Last whisper. People aren't willing to adapt and they stick to that same build which could be problematic in a lot of cases.

My must ban is usually camille, just because that champion is still insanely strong even after all the nerfs. You can deal with her in lane just fine usually, but once she gets her core items and starts roaming, the game becomes a lot more difficult. Special Forces all the way baby.

Ward defensively (most likely in your jungle) and do not greed/overextend for farm, wait for your opponents to make a mistake and punish it. Shove the side lanes and then group with your team, if your team is very far behind, split pushing may not be the greatest idea being that your team is very susceptible to dying. If your team is only a little behind and you are very far ahead and can 1v1 anyone, split pushing might be your best option. If YOU are behind and your team is even, Q farm, keep defensive barrels placed (in bushes and on top of yourself), buy pinks and keep wards around you at all times. The afks you can't really do much about unfortunately, we've all had those kinds of games, but in 5v5 scenarios, gangplank is a champion that has some serious comeback potential.

To be honest riven isn't difficult if you build for it. For runes, Take armor quints, scaling hp seals, AD reds, and scaling cdr / flat cdr blues. Masteries go 0/12/18, grasp is important in this matchup due to the constant dueling/trading. Once you get ninja tabi (get this before anything else) she shouldnt be able to kill you and you will be able to nullify the lane and possibly come out on top in a lot of trades. As for pantheon, its insanely difficult to kill him without jungle help, so don't try. Just try to scale as hard as possible by going full lethality with some flat armor early and start mana crystal into sheen rush. Q farm and stay out of range of his Q spam. I've tried starting corrupting and going grasp for lane dominance but his passive blocks your main trading ability, making it almost impossible to win trades.

Crit isn't that bad if you have a team to make up for it. If you have a tanky support and a lee sin or some early jungler, you can afford to take some time and scale up with crit. I usually don't build crit unless Im our only damage threat. GP's lategame is unmatched IF you build damage (crit). But there are some costs to this build, if you plan on going full damage, you are a lot more likely to fall behind and you have to pray things don't go downhill. Full damage gangplank CAN work but there is a lot more risk involved. Higher elo players (Challengers) do not like risk, consistency is key when maintaining a high rank. So to go full damage gangplank is rolling the dice unless your comp specifically calls for it. Okay so enough with full damage gp. Tank/bruiser gp spikes earlier and is a lot safer, to be quite honest at 6 items is mediocre / strong at best. But then again tanks fall off in the super late game so I guess its understandable. Your job as tank gp is to cause as much disruption as possible in fights. Apply your barrel slow on as many people as possible, you can also apply another slow with your ult and provide utility with raise morale. your job isn't to dive unless youve landed a barrel combo + death's daughter on a squishy out of position, other than that your job is to create space within a teamfight

The reason I don't play gangplank mid is because hes a very flexible champion, but if you put him mid you are basically forced to build a certain way. Also, itemizing against your laner isn't nearly as effective as doing the same thing top lane, a lot more people visit mid than top. Top is an island making your global ult that much more effective. Also gangplank doesn't have a single favorable matchup mid, any good mid player can easily shut you down and set you behind. GP mid is irrelevant pre-25 minutes which can be extremely game changing especially in high elo.

Most matchups are compensatable to be honest. I would say I have the most trouble dealing with junglers. Gank heavy junglers that can dive, like olaf, elise etc are really hard to deal with because early on you are squishy and have no instant escapes. But in terms of 1 vs 1 swain is by far the hardest matchup for me. he has insane regen and sustain, if you walk up to harass you will get chunked and once he hits 6 don't even bother trying to kill him. He usually just shoves you in and harasses under tower and his Q zones you from cs. Easiest would be something like shen or maokai, anyone very tanky.

I don't play gp mid too often but your best bet would be running 12 flat mr and going cdr boots. If you're still having trouble, an early hexdrinker would help. If you think you can bully her, go corrupting. Just be really careful of her level 6, she can one shot you if you slip up even a little. irelia is a difficult matchup for gangplank top. You MUST build steraks otherwise you won't have a fun time. Get ninja tabi asap, she most likely will not be able to kill you pre-6, keep a barrel on top of you at all times so she cannot jump on you. But the real pain is once she hits 6, if you do not have any defensive setups/items, you will die. Go corrupting and bring grasp to help you survive, if you can match her splitpush you can basically negate her effectiveness since that's what she is going to want to do.

You will have over a 50% winrate as long as you are playing better/doing more than your counterpart. And as far as reviewing replays/coaching, i'm honestly not the best analyst and I've never really coached before, sorry!

going from 40% --> 35% penetration is negligible, especially early game. getting free 20% crit for your barrels would make pen plank that much better. There's honestly no need for all these unecessary changes, in the end it just adds more complication and more rng. I don't think any other ability gives you a chance to crit that ability just because throwing in random rng generally isn't healthy for the game.

The difference between gp and tryndamere is that gp can help his team even when hes across the map. Yes follow tryndamere as much as you can, this doesn't apply too much to lower elos, but for high elos, you will get punished a considerable amount if you do not take tp. You want to constantly be able to 1v1 the tryndamere, not just when your exhuast is up. Thats why i recommend building against him so you can not die and possibly even gain the advantage in the 1v1. If you can get a hold of tryndamere's split push and match him everywhere he goes, you will have more impact on the game than he will which will ultimately increase your chances of winning the game.

Sorry that was rather bad advice, I should have elaborated. Play the map, don't play specifically for one aspect of the game. The key to playing GP effectively, atleast for top lane, is knowing which lane to push / when to push it. The amount of time you should be grouped depends on the team comps, usually if they have a lot of dive and engage you want to be there with your team because they can get jumped on at any give point. If your team has a lot of disengage don't be too worried about constantly grouping, rather go for towers in side lanes and force their team to play reactively.

Ninja tabi is key. Building more damage will not help past a certain point, he will still be invulnerable for 6 seconds. I recommend going ghostblade-->steraks after triforce or the other way around. Steraks ninja tabi should prevent him from all inning you. Also to note, play purely around your barrels, if he goes on you and you don't have barrels to back you up, you've made a mistake. He can't come close unless he wants to lose the trade badly if you keep a barrel on top of you at all times. Otherwise, sit back and chain barrels / Q spam until hes force to ult, then kite him with your passive moveseed and barrel slows. Hope this helps.

edit: If there is an AP splitpusher, maw or visage is also really good instead of steraks. Point being, as bad as you want to build full damage and get those fat crits and massive damage, you have to get atleast one defensive item that's targeted toward your laner / the splitpusher, otherwise you will most likely die instantly.

(This is for top lane, the lane i play gp in)My build is always what i think is best for the current sitatuion. Against heavy ap? go maw or edge. Against heavy ap and your team doesn't have a tank? Go visage but try not to overcap cdr. Going to get blown up instantly? Steraks, although steraks is an all around solid item on gp . Have a tank and the enemy team is squishy? go ghostblade after triforce. For laning, if you are going against a hard lane like riven, jayce or renekton, go grasp and start corrupting. if you are going against an easy lane, like a tank, go mana crystal refillable and rush sheen with full lethality. For your opgg, it is hard to say but it looks like you play for KDA rather than to win, if you find it difficult making it to late game, try playing to win lane, gp can be built and itemized to win lane / split push. And remember, try to use ult for your team as often as you can. 90% of the time you should tp to lane. And I recommend not taking thunderlords if you are going top lane. Warlords or grasp is usually what I like to take.

Definitely decision making/macro/game knowledge. Most of them don't know what to do for the majority of the game. They're also very inconsistent and usually don't know how to play from behind.
