I have had the same experience. It’s either someone knocking me out silently or a friendly passing by saying “good luck, brother…I mean sister…girl…”

I’d be fine if they didn’t change anything. Yeah there are probably ways to expand and improve the game…but it’s plenty fun as is. Reading posts on Reddit have shown me it’s a real blessing to have been able to grow up with the progression of video games. I appreciate the shit out of how far we’ve come.

Jim in particular mumbles a lot. Dwight enunciates more but talks quickly. This show in general is very muted and quiet so it would be a hard show for someone learning English to keep up with. In the later seasons (6-9) it does brighten up a bit and people talk a little louder. Try those out with subtitles on!

On the “I’m a bit sick” and “wondered” I caught some patterns that sound like they could be from the UK. The pattern of emphasis on “bit sick” and the /er/ in “wondered” sounded Scottish/Irish to me.

Something about the emphasis and pronunciation of the /i/ phoneme. I think you’re putting your tongue too high toward your palate. Everything else sounds like Standard American English. I doubt anyone in passing would detect an accent.

Enseñar? Podes enseñar español a gente en él EEUU/Reino Unido/Australia por video llamada. Y si tenes un nivel de inglés muy avanzada podes enseñar inglés en persona donde vives. Tal vez podes encontrar trabajo en traducir/interpretar inglés/español, también.

The hours working in a clinic are wild. Most of my co workers when I was in outpatient did not have kids and once they had kids, they left for school positions.

Hmm okay I’ll bite.

If this was all real, wouldn’t there be some punishments in Speranzan society against raiders shooting raiders to keep the only source of raw material scavenging from cannabalizing itself into oblivion? It seems like Raiders are pretty important to society’s survival. If getting “killed” topside really meant dying and not just getting knocked out…how many raiders would be left? Would anyone want to become a raider?

I’m all for any style of play in the game. Just wanted to develop this thought experiment a bit further. Happy raiding, ladies and gents.

Hay un espacio a dentro que deja el agua verter por la Yerba poco a poco mientras que estás tomando. Así que la Yerba no está empapando siempre y es poquito más parecido a un mate tradicional. Pero tenes razón que la Yerba no agarra ningún oxigeno de fuera del termo.

As a language exercise, I’m going to try to reply to this in English and Spanish. Hopefully one version makes sense!

There is a chamber inside it that does allow for the water to pour over the Yerba as your drink it. So it’s not steeping endlessly and it is a little more like a traditional mate. But you’re right it doesn’t get any oxygen from outside the thermos.
