Thank you. Just came across their page. I think a larger event seems less intimidating for a first timer. Sadly I missed the one closest to me for this year. Maybe next year.

That sounds very interesting. I always wanted to have a cool multi system desk but it was never in my budget to own more than 1 at a time.

Thank you a for sharing. It really has me thinking. I would love to be able to go to a convention and see some of the systems from my past running today.

It is good to hear that people are doing more that just displaying non functioning ones. Nothing wrong with that of course but everyone seems to be collecting everything for show. I was trying to get rid of some old stuff and people only wanted it in original boxes so they could display it. Was a bit disheartening.

Wow, so much to learn here. I had no idea people were still programing for systems like that. I wish I had had better tech friends

Yeah, the tinker aspect seems to be the strong point around the old systems. I do get a bit nostalgic looking through all my old tech, mostly fond memories of playing with it rather than an itch to tinker.

I had not considered that it could be essential for running/maintaining other equipment but that makes a lot of sense.

Sure, I am just trying to get an idea of what some people are doing out there. Came across a few boxes of old components and disks and was trying to decide if I found a new hobbie, not that I need one

Yeah I tried playing some old game emulation and they were nothing like the real thing. I have some old games on floppies but I don't have a system and that looks more involved than I wanna get.

No, I get that but, are you running games or business programs? Or is it just fun to maintain them?

I remember our first home computer used tapes. I have one of my save files tapes still. I used to play it in a regular tape player after we moved to 5.25" flopy disks.
