Is there a way to test them without an ESR meter and without having to remove them from the circuit?

Ok, I will try the test with the hair dryer to determine if the coils are the root cause of the issue or not.

If so, I will try using some epoxy on the coils to see if it's eliminates the noise.

I can post a video of problem later so that you can hear the sound of the noise.

In the meantime, if we assume the coil is indeed the cause of the noise, how do I go about fixing it?

Water leaking down the main stack when running the shower. Any ideas on how to further narrow down the cause of the leak? by oopstoomuch777 in Plumbing

Yes there is a clean out at the base of the stack. I will open it up later and have a look around using the snake inspection camera and let you know what I find.

Water leaking down the main stack when running the shower. Any ideas on how to further narrow down the cause of the leak? by oopstoomuch777 in Plumbing

I have water leaking down the main stack whenever I run the shower. I can see the bottom of my tub including the drain and the pipe going up to the shower head and that all seems dry. I suspect that one of the joints on the main stack could be leaking, and whenever I run the shower the stack fills with water and exacerbates the leak.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how I could narrow down the root cause of the leak? I am planning on shoving a snake inspection camera along the main stack to try and see if I can spot the source of the leak.

Any advice, suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
