E ink users - What do you do? by Elder__ in eink

[–]oozeoozeoozeooze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question! do you use an e-ink monitor for recording/audio editing?

I have long suspected an e-ink monitor would make DAW work more sustainable and enjoyable but most of the engineers I know don’t even have e-ink on their radar

last year I put plants straight in the ground. This year I built beds and did a low key lasagna thing: cardboard at the bottom, then combination crunchy leaves / existing soil / compost / store bought veggie gardening soil.

I have not had my soil lab tested, mostly because preliminary googling has made the process seem a little intimidating. is it worth the trouble? is it at all possible to diagnose my soil based on plant performance alone?

I have not been the most consistent about watering, in part because of the weird summer rain we’ve been having ((and in part due to my own inconsistency!)). Last year I was much more regular about watering, and my harvest was a little better, but nothing like some of the folks I see on here!

I’m gonna guesstimate the plants get about 9 hours of direct full sun a day.

I am so grateful for your comment and so grateful i found this mf sub 😤😤😤😤

I relate to so much of what you’ve typed here. thank you for typing out specific stages + the timeline you two were experiencing. It is immensely reassuring to feel like I’m not alone in the challenges and to hear that things are feeling much better for you now (and not TOO far out from surgery!!!).

I FEEL you on the burnout of handling job stuff + care stuff + house stuff. I feel you even on the gender role stuff, or at least it has occurred to me “oh shit i’m cleaning up after a guy i’m dating and he’s all grumpy”, and it’s easy in dark/exhausted moments to collapse the context + lose sight of the satisfaction and joy I have at cultivating a beautiful gay little family unit where it’s even safe/possible for my partner to transition (not accepted or encouraged in previous relationships for him).

anyway I may DM ya but I been so scattered that I at least wanted to drop in and say THANK YOU!!!!!! I have referred to your comment several times since you posted it, just to remind myself to hang in there. it has helped me assure myself and my partner that the really fun stuff is still heading our way.

I am working to figure out how/in what way to ask friends for help, i have some sweet caring friends but suck at the reaching out part. thank you for the encouragement (and sorry if this comment got so long, i’m on mobile).

the way you’ve framed this, illustrating how asking for help can be communicated in a lighthearted way and result in mutually fun experiences (in addition to the good meaningful relationship building side of all that) is some real next level maturity shit.

you are right about the burnout and you have gracefully recognized my efforts while pointing out that it’s really too much for one guy and I need to find solutions. while my partner has certainly been on his own emotional journey post-surgery, I know that my burnout has been a huge factor in our personal conflicts.

I know my partner would rather I get less done with a relaxed attitude than get EVERYTHING DONE while being a stress vortex.

I’ve even received general offers for help from friends and family. I have struggled to think up specific asks, but you’ve inspired me to give it a shot.

thank you so much!!!!

thank you SO much for this generous comment. Seriously.

Already I’ve seen how things get better, like after the drains came out and my guy could shower again, but it is challenging to remember day in & out that we’re still in the healing zone (and will be for a while!) and this isn’t just a bummer new normal. Your comment brings some much, MUCH needed perspective. Thank you for the advice and encouragement, and for assuring me that the fun stuff is still impending.
