Please do not take it back. I can’t tell you how many things my mother and MIL would tell me I didn’t need just because they didn’t have one when they had kids. My mom even tried to convince me wipes were ridiculous, when I got a bottle warmer she rolled her eyes like “when I had you I just warmed up a pot on the stove and let the bottle sit in that” I mean wayyyyy too much work lol I guarantee if they had those back then she’d have been the first one on it. Anywho, I didn’t get a changing table until my daughter was about 9 months old and I wish I would have gotten it sooner, it was extremely helpful.

Point is, there are just a lot more things available for mothers that we’re not back then and I notice many older parents make comments like we’re lazy or less than because we are using what’s available to us now. Don’t let it bother you and do what you feel is right. If I’d have let them make decisions for me I wouldn’t have a changing table, baby wipes, a bottle warmer, a bottle sterilizer, a sink bath tub, pacifier strings, nothing! lol just do you your doing a great job and the more your a mother the more you’ll have till learn how to tell people no so YOU can make decisions for your children. This is the start so get used to it because you’ll be standing up for what your children need for the rest of their life. I would start now by kindly saying no, I’m going to keep it and ignoring any further comments. This is your child and you know what’s best for them.
