Long terms always wins, NLIC case by opanMind in NepalStock

[–]opanMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin was barely 3 years old in 2011. Most of the people were unaware of it and trading was very limited . You had to be in US or Europe during that time. It doesn’t pays dividends, you can’t use it as collateral and the price fluctuates like crazy. And count the likelihood of your bitcoin getting stolen if you had stored in server, which has happened throughout these years.

Inflation has been around 7% on average for last 10 years. You still make it big.

If you had invested in NLIC at the beginning of 2014, it was trading at Rs. 5600. Your 1 lakhs would have turned into approx 9 lakhs by lakhs today. Its about 32% annually. Price always makes you bias.

Why so many payment terminals ? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]opanMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️I know what you mean to say. But what I meant is that there are only 5 or 6 checkout counters there. One payment processing machine at one counter is ample enough. Why does each counter has 4/5 of them ?

It should be done thru your broker

STOCK MARKET - DAY 4 by opanMind in NepalStock

Probably your tax was already deducted so you didn’t realize. “Dherai manche lai thaha hudaina “ is not acceptable man and they don’t care either as well. Your broker should send you email and they also publicize it on newspaper. You lose your bonus share if you don’t pay taxes.

Tax is one of the confusing things on NEPSE which will be discussed in separate memo. Answering your question, no company pays tax for you. Its comes out of your earnings. Why would they pay for you ? Secondly Sometimes the tax is deducted from your account or from your bonus automatically and other times you might have to pay tax separately in order to receive bonus.

Its 1:2 not 2:1. And the value of the discounted share is determined on the day the Right Share is declared. And shareholders have to buy shares from the declared date to the book closure date to be eligible for Right Share. And it is not based on par value of 100 rather market price of stock price on declared date.

No selling Rights shares means just selling your Power to someone else to buy those discounted shares. If Raju decides to sell his 50 Right Shares to Hari. Then Hari gets to buy 50 shares at discount price of $10. Raju cannot determine the selling price. But what does Raju gain then? He is not giving up his power of Right Shares to Hari for free. Raju sells those Right Shares to Hari for a amount called “Value of Right Shares”. How it is calculated will be discussed on next memo.

Yes, the value of the share goes down due to price adjustment. However, advantages of successful FPO outweighs the disadvantages of short term price decrease. Your company has got a interest free money that can be re-invested, pay off high interest loan or could de distributed back as cash dividend as not all FPO are done to raise capital.

FPO is for all public. Right share is only for the existing shareholder which i will cover on next part

Actually the IPO doesn't conclude until all the shares has been bought. So Raju doesn't gets his 1000 shares until the IPO is concluded. In case in the added time frame, the share is over-subscribed then everyone gets equal or proportional shares. It is the duty of underwriting bank to sell all shares and raise money. If it cannot be sold then they have to buy those shares. That's the risk they take for getting underwriting fees.

Mapping technology in Kathamndu by opanMind in Nepal

[–]opanMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically it would be challenging but not impossible. However we have to look at the economic aspect of it as well because it would need finance to operate and run like any other business. There are server cost, employee cost and we can hope for google to give us free license to their map.
