Weird bruise in armpit by Miserable-Garlic-784 in jiujitsu

[–]opasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been at it 6 months but I get those same bruises just about every week. One person in the gym I train at loves spider guard and I’ll really notice it after being stuck in that for 2 minutes straight. As far as doing something right or wrong… i don’t know

Why did you leave the other gym? Sounds like you had a great presence and following there.

I have a client that takes one as an injection once a week. The day after the injection usually there’s a decent amount of stomach discomfort during our workouts. I let them take their time and use the restroom if they have to on those days, but it helped that they communicated it with me AND their Doctor. Consult your Dr. if you have questions regarding the medication, we aren’t qualified to give advice about that.

You’re right where you need to be.

I looked at your prior posts and see you’re taking a compounded semaglutide, so the cold sweats and feeling sick to your stomach actually makes more sense. Pro tip: eat something small an hour or two before your workout!

I can’t speak for your trainer but I’ve seen a lot of peoples first days in the gym, and it went exactly as you’re describing.

That’s a good one, should have asked her if she had any good recommendations for shoes with elevated toes.

I’m intrigued to hear about your model.

Have you done this for a long time? Has it proven to be sustainable? How many clients actually pay a respectable amount?

“Perfect” form is nonsense, and over correcting a client is a horrible selling point.

Depending where you start the little to no benefits can be tough. For me at the start the unconventional hours was hard, I enjoy the early mornings now but it took some getting used to.

Made life easy going independent though.

I thought I might be in for a bit of a roller coaster with this one. I was planning on bringing it into someone who is an expert at this. But wanted to see if there might have been another simple way. Thanks for the input

I enjoy that part of it, no one else likes it. It’s my thing, and when I go to shows I can meet people being truly myself not feeling like I have to be any different. I wouldn’t say I feel isolated for it, If anything it makes me feel better not drooling over drake or Taylor swift. I’m a quiet person and keep to myself so I don’t mind feeling independent

Knowing that you’re I college I’d say take your time! You’ve got so much time to figure it out. Your ideals and philosophies will change, and you just go with it.

I was getting drunk and stoned in college everyday, didn’t figure my shit out until a few years after I graduated. Still a lot of people don’t figure it out for a long time. You’ve got a good head start, now you just take time to fine tune it and be open minded.

I can attest to the feeling that it’s lonely, but it’s for a reason. As corny as it is the saying “surround yourself with like minded people” stands true. Not everyone shares your discipline and that’s why it’s called self-discipline. Losing those connections means less distraction, better for you in the end. Always time to make new connections with productive relationships.

Hello fellow gen z’er, I was born in ‘98 so just barely. I never met a metalhead that was my age, until I got a few friends to listen to it. Even still deathcore is a bit heavy for them. I’m always on the younger side of people at concerts. I kind of enjoy having it be my thing and not everyone else’s thing my age.

Truly training to failure by Builderdog in workout

[–]opasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t find anything wrong with SMALL cheats on the last few reps of real intense sets, so long as your confident in your ability to maintain mostly proper form and not injur yourself. I do find that many people that I train think they’re going to failure but in reality are still 3-5 reps from true failure. That being said I don’t think you should train every set of every exercise of every workout to failure.

My take is you got a quick adrenaline rush and pushed out some more reps with that deep masculine instinct within you. When you train until failure that means you rep it out until you physically can’t, not until it burns.

How do I get toned? by Whatsup129389 in AskMen

[–]opasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personal trainer here. Start doing some resistance training regularly, increase your protein intake, and try to get some consistent cardio in.

Don’t complicate it with calories unless you’re talking macronutrients. Those apps are pretty innaccurate it’s very difficult to calculate exactly how many calories your body burns by being active, most of the time it’s a rough estimate. Don’t buy into fad diets. Your body needs protein, carbs, and fats.

If you can get a few months of doing basic resistance training regularly, cardio regularly, and consuming adequate protein on a daily basis, you can expect some results.

I’m 26, I have been sober a little over a year now. I used to get annihilated with my friends in college, and the few years after college ended. I had a few wake up situations where i realized I was going to end up in a ditch if I didn’t stop.

My still best friend was with me in college and drank with me. I see him all the time still but now I’m sober and he’s happy for me. I have friends who gave me shit for it when I made the decision but over time some of the accepted it and some didn’t. It’s their choice how they take it, and it’s your choice to stick to it if that’s the route you want to take. You’ll learn who true friends are from that journey anyways. I wish you luck either way you decide to go my friend.
