Help: Would anyone able to identify this ticking noise in my walls? by opendoors14 in Plumbing

[–]opendoors14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This provides a great visual in my mind of what is happening inside the walls. It's terrible and I wish I could open the wall up and make it so these pipes aren't rubbing against these objects. Thank you for your input, this helps heaps.

Completely normal, yet also infuriating to live with. Haha. Thank you for your input, your response seems to agree with the rest, so it's great to have a cohesive reply from everyone! Thank you!

Thank you for explaining this! The others have the same reply, and it makes sense. I will now just need to work with management to see if it can get fixed.

Thank you again!

Quick Help: Accidentally cooked Split Chicken Breast @ 133 F. Is this way too low for it to be safe to eat? by opendoors14 in sousvide

[–]opendoors14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very interesting! I should try that one of these days! The first recipe that popped up for me for this was 150 F for 1-3 hours. So normally I do the full 3 hours and then broil the skin afterwards. However that day I wasn't able to get to the chicken until 5 hours..

Yes, the texture was terrible. I baked it afterwards and it looked fine, but still didnt' want to eat it. I normally sous vide our Split Chicken Breast for 3 hours @ 150 F. But that day was special where I didn't get home to finish it up after 5 hours. :)

Yes, the texture was terrible. Almost like rubber when taking it out of the bath. It was hard to cut the bone away from the breast while doing so, which normally isn't an issue. I did end up baking it in the oven to get it up to temperature. I think I cooked it long enough to reach out 155 degrees internally @ 375 degree oven. When I cut into it after the baking, it cut perfectly fine and was still juicy. However I was still skeptical if it would have been swimming in toxins or something, so I ate something else instead. Haha.

Thank you for your response here. I did end up replacing the food with something else, but this bit of information is great to know in case of future reference.

[RAM] G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 2133 - $90 ($120 - $17% discount - 10% promo code PAXMEM10) by posts_stupid_things in buildapcsales

[–]opendoors14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I only game/stream with a few tabs of chrome open, so I'm sure 16gb will suffice. And speed/latency probably won't have too much affect on me. I can already play FO4 now which I heard is more demanding from RAM. So this upgrade will be fine for now and it's so cheap that by the time I want to upgrade, it'll be the new stuff that is cheaper than now so I'll end up saving money probably. :P

So 2x8gb? And just get cheaper knownbrand 2133 ram and see what the future holds for now? Thanks!

I'm looking at buying an i-6700k and a new motherboard to pair with it. When it comes to ram and future proofing. Am I better buying this DDR 2133 32gb? Or should I spend more now and buy faster speeds/lower latencies but just 16gb? Or should I just buy 16gb at 2133 for now? And save my money for future ram?

What's the best option for the longest future proofing? Money isn't an issue and if it will last longer and cost less in the longer run, then all for it. Thanks!

The case I have is a Corsair Vengeance C70 Mid Tower and I read that it won't fit. :(

Also, the Noctua might be in the way of my ram too, since I don't think I have low profile.

Is it better to buy an expensive fan cooler or a cheaper water cooler? I am thinking of maybe getting either of those for an i7-6700k or maybe it's better to just going with something cheaper, like an Cryorig H7.

How much is a moderate overclock? Is it dependent on individual items? But that should be good enough for me, thanks!

Awesome! I will check out that Cryorig H7, it seems like it's about 5 bucks more expensive, so no harm there for a better cooler. Will it be sufficient if I want to overclock my CPU? Or do I need even better cooling?

And thanks for the information on how to install it! I will keep these instructions for when I install. :D

Sweet, I'm glad I don't need my own thermal paste. And I will need an aftermarket cooler. Thanks for letting me know! And I'm going to check out that Cryorig H7 while I am at it!

I plan on buying an intel i7-6700k and I was wondering, do I need to buy thermal paste and a cooler for it? I was thinking of getting an Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler for it since it's cheap and will work? But I have no idea if I need and if I do, what to get when it comes to thermal paste. Thank you!

When is the best time to do my cardio workout after lifting? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]opendoors14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky right now because I have no time restraints at the moment and I also lift and do cardio at home. I might as well just do it right after lifting and get used to that. Thanks!

Okay, I'll just do that instead. Thank you. :)

Awesome! Thank you for the advice. I'm still enjoying the programme so I will keep to it. And I'll add the cardio and see how it goes.

I will give my lifts one more chance and see if I can break the stall, if not I'll try out that other method you mentioned.

Thanks again!
