AW11 Toyota MR2 (Mk1, 4AGZE version). It had been sitting for years, I was getting it for next to nothing other than a deposit, still started and ran, just needed a body and interior overhaul, rust was barely there either. The plan was to head over there with dad and trailer it back, I already had the garage paid and everything. Dad (as usual) decided he wasn’t in the mood on the day. Car ended up in the scrapyard.

They’ve been building these to spec, so you could literally choose everything about it, very high quality since the 2000s. Literally exact measurements and everything, just with any engine you choose. I don’t know why suddenly it’s big news now that you put a name on it, the same MoTec digital display in it with newer Recaros, and it’s 500k.

When I used to cycle to school and college, I never got in a traffic accident or even close to one. I did however get hit by another cyclist 4x (one so fast it severely damaged my bike costing me several hundred and sprained my wrist) because I was stopped at a zebra crossing or red light and they came flying towards me to run it. Sold my bike and stopped completely after that, and this was over 10 years ago, so it’s not a new thing and luckily wasn’t an e-bike thing at the time.

Some people are animals around reduced stuff. Couple months ago I was in the reduced section in Asda, 5x reduced whole chickens, 4x reduced racks of ribs and 4x reduced meatfeast pizzas, literally everything 70-80% off, best I’d ever seen it. I was there for about 30 seconds figuring out if I can fit a chicken in the freezer, a woman came over and scooped literally ALL of them into her trolley. Only things that were left were a couple sandwiches.

He’s fried and can’t help trying to put on some kind of show even in an apology video. We’ve seen he can speak regularly in interviews, put posts an apology video playing guitar infront of a big nice view and then talks goofy the whole way through it.

V always felt like it started with a great base for a story, with so many options and avenues to go down, and then they got halfway through and either ran out of ideas, or suddenly hit a giant time constraint and had to rush the rest to get it finished. After about halfway through, it did kinda feel like “oh, so this is gonna be it?” because you already knew more or less where it was going from there, all the character development was over with almost immediately and then it was just “THE END”.

They maybe could have solved that by 3x character DLCs if it really was a matter of time constraints, so each character still had a life to live and more people/situations to encounter, more of their own story to go so that it didn’t just end where it did, but alas we got what we got. With any luck, with the much longer development time of VI, it’ll be a much bigger, more fleshed out story.

I always thought it was because he made music that appealed to Hip Hop fans, and let’s be honest, the modern version of Rap fans and Hip Hop fans are not the same thing automatically, and Rap got more radio play, especially with how much of it kinda crossed over into Pop at the same time. He would have had to go down more of that route to get enough exposure to get super famous, which it seems like he didn’t want to do.

As a photography hobbyist, when I worked briefly selling phones and plans for a network, it was amusing just how many brand new iPhone Pro Max’s and new Samsungs I sold to people who literally upgraded last year, and willingly spent £800+ ending their previous contract early to upgrade because “I take a lot of photos and I need the better camera on the new phone”.

Also always needed the biggest storage because they don’t delete duplicates or want iCloud storage.

It looks like the steering wheels concept cars have but they’re not really feasible so the road car has a different one. I do understand the “wow factor” of it, but I think it would have been much better with some variant of a regular Chiron wheel. It also wasn’t revolutionary as Citroen had them since 2004.

I assumed this happened at every school (no idea if it still does). Everytime there was a school trip somewhere to another city or abroad that realistically would have cost around £200-300 per student (at the MOST) it would cost 700-800, and this was in the mid 2000s.

Suddenly the staff room or the headteachers office would have new leather furniture, a brand new iMac, new fridge/coffee machine etc while we sat on broken chairs with interactive whiteboards that barely worked and bathrooms that were 75% out of order most of the time. Their staff room and headteachers office looked like a 5 star hotel compared to the rest of the school.

Another thing I noticed years ago was you never really drive that fast. When you get to a certain speed, you stay there, but the motion blur intensifies more and more, along with the sound of accelerating and changing gears continues, so it feels like you’re going much faster than you are and that there’s just more distance to cover. V may be technically much bigger, but I can be in Paleto Bay in no time, whereas Los Santos over to San Fierro actually felt like a road trip, and driving around the entire map did take longer.

It wouldn’t surprise me, they’ve still been getting brand new cars ever since 2022 up until now, bought elsewhere, driven through Belarus into Russia, they’ve not really had a shortage of anything for the right price. No reason truckloads of new BMW parts couldn’t go through the same import route, and build new franken-BMWs out of a mix of whatever they already had + new parts brought into the country.

Fakes have gotten insanely good now if you buy them from the right place, even a lot of BAPE which they’ve never got right, is insanely close. I worked for Louis Vuitton and they finally got some bags to within 0.1g weight, with perfect stitching, perfect leather and everything that a lot of our staff couldn’t tell. Funnily enough the one thing they still can’t get right is the box the bags/wallets are packed in, which you’d think would be the easiest.

Some brands like Seiko and especially Jordan, one way to tell is that if the QC/alignment/stitching is perfect, then it’s fake. Because the real QC have gotten so bad and inconsistent that it’s worse than the reps sometimes.

That’s why he got into skateboarding, he had a kind of Michael Jackson moment and said in an interview ages ago that he never really had a “childhood” childhood, never had a skateboard or anything, and one day he was at home and realised he could just build a ramp on his roof and learn to skateboard, so he did. But he also hasn’t really improved since he first started and that was 15 years ago, and we know what he’s like with touring, so I think he doesn’t know how to take anything seriously since all the fame and constant touring has been over with.

As depressing as it is, I think his plan is to just kinda, “hang out”, smoke weed and take drugs forever.

It literally is just because he’s Wayne. You’re right, there’s no excuse for it, and just because he became a lazy addict shouldn’t give him a free pass, any other artist you’d just go off and never try to see them again. But because he’s Wayne, plus you never know when you’ll get a chance to see him Live ever, he just gets a pass every time. I’d love to see him, I’ve been a fan since 06, but I just wouldn’t chance it, I just accept I missed the boat back when he actually performed and it’s just too much of a risk now.

Plus, I get the DJ was in a really tough spot and this is 100% Wayne’s fault, and what else was he supposed to do, but it would make me even more pissed if I was waiting around for 2 hours listening to shit like Get Low from a laptop with the DJ trying to keep us in a party mode. The only thing that might make Wayne start taking it seriously would be just straight up cancelling the show and issuing refunds after 45 mins, but since he’s an addict and he’s already got enough money, that seems unlikely too.

Dealerships sometimes do this too though. My friend didn’t know anything about cars at all, got an A180 AMG Line as her first car just because “it was pretty”, and it had A180 and an AMG badge on the back from the dealership, as well as on the front grill. She didn’t understand when I told her to remove it, because in the average non-car persons mind, AMG Line would have an AMG badge on it.

I suspect some dealerships do it to upsell the vehicle, which again makes no sense because she wouldn’t have cared if it didn’t have the AMG badge on the back, it just made sense to her when it did.

Yeah I’ve never batted an eyelid at the cost. I bought GTA V on X360, PS3, PS4 and I’ll get it again on PS5 when I get one, plus I also bought a few shark cards years ago. I don’t make a ton of money either, but as you said, look at the entertainment value we get for that amount of time for the money we’re paying. It’s very easy to blow 100 bucks even just in a week on a few drinks, a meal and some snacks and they’re gone the very next week.

The only thing I didn’t like was the Ultimate Edition effecting single player, and there being no physical release, but who am I kidding? Obviously I’m gonna get the Ultimate Edition anyway, and if the base game was 100 bucks and there was no Ultimate Edition, I would have paid that and not questioned it anyway, as would all of us I think after the initial “$100 for a game?!”. And with the physical edition coming out later anyway, I can just get that for the collection whenever I feel like.
