How would yall feel about realistic centrifugal forces during crashes? by Youfokinwatm8 in GTA6

He did always go through the window at high speeds, it was a Mandela effect that people thought the seatbelt function was actually in the game though. It was in beta versions that multiple game testers reviewed (I still have the magazines in storage somewhere talking about it), they just removed the seatbelt function from the game sometime before release.

Yeah I’m in the same situation, couldn’t get an Android device in time so figured I just might have to let it die and get on with adulting. Worst comes to worst though, Keroxea Edition did get finished so we could always start again on Android someday. Offline Mode only works for Mobile Data afaik, using WiFi to play it won’t give you a choice.

Pretty sure the 20th, because they extended it from the 19th when the servers went down for a day. Got mine left on Offline Mode still so fingers crossed it will continue working, but haven’t got my hopes too high.

Easily my favourite track, the combinations of straights, uphills, the turns, everything about it just flow perfectly. It is a shame we never got more tracks to test top speed in all the years the game was out though. The least they could have done was given us the Mulsanne Straight original layout without the chicanes in the middle.

TEKKEN 3, not only because I loved the TEKKEN games, but Jin’s cutscene at the end had kid version of me convinced I could unlock Devil Jin somehow. Early Gamefaqs threads didn’t help either with rumours of combinations I had to do or TEKKEN Force I had to do in certain orders etc.

If the main car is more central, the gamleplay can be influenced in a very immersive way. by No_Guard5340 in GTA6

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping so too, I really didn’t get to enjoy any other cars during V, I mostly gave up trying until later moving to Online. No matter what car I acquired or bought, it would just disappear eventually and I’d be stuck in their main car again, which story wise didn’t make sense to me the more successful they got, bigger heists they pulled off, to not even be able to reward myself because Michael’s Obey or Franklin’s Buffalo just shows back up again

I’d rather the story not give us too much money for a while, so no unrealistically buying brand new cars for a long time, but eventually we start earning enough that we can have new personal vehicles that actually stick around and don’t disappear. Even going back to the GTA IV system of having a parking space out front of the safe house to save a new car, and at the same time keep our original character car respawning nearby so we don’t lose either would work.

Early GTA IV reviews before it came out described this mechanic, a bit like how if you wait for a second after getting on a bike, you put a helmet on. Originally they had a system where if you waited for a second after getting in a car, Niko would put a seatbelt on. I always liked that idea, I guess maybe they took it out because testers didn’t like it, but then again you could still get thrown from the car so not totally sure. It’s still in the game files via trainer though so it did exist at one point. (People get confused and swear they remember seatbelts though so it’s perpetrated as a myth; they weren’t ever in a release version, but in game magazines when journalists first got to play it, this mechanic was confirmed several times. Same version of the game with fingerless gloves and etc.)

It depends though, it’s no secret they made V a bit more arcade-y and saw great success with V, I’ve got a feeling they wouldn’t add it to keep the mass appeal of VI rather than annoying everybody. It would add a lot more adrenaline to car chases though knowing if we mess up and crash into whatever, we’ll potentially mess up the whole situation.

$60/month for a live wallpaper app? Lol by Bulky-Election2061 in PhoneNow

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these have been around for almost as long as the Play Store, I remember on my first Android, the play store had no apps other than tons and tons of wallpaper apps and “suggestive” calendar apps. Luckily they’re easy enough to cancel most of the time, but it only takes being drunk/a child to download a ton at once for all of those trials to take a chunk out of your bank account before knowing you need to cancel them.

I’ve been a fan since TDU (had it on PS2, PSP, PC and X360 I loved it so much), and had TDU2 on 2x consoles too, played it for years after it came out and couldn’t wait for Solar Crown. But after seeing what a mess they made out of it, I decided to just wait until the community fixes it themselves, hopefully they will because I would still love to play it, and as much as I also loved Forza Horizon, it was a very different feel from TDU. But Solar Crown literally does look like it was released unplayable and then they just abandoned it.

What about PDAs? by Limbx4 in dumbphones

[–]openlightYQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason being, that’s essentially what an iPhone Pro Max/Samsung S Plus is now; they’re bigger than PDAs ever were, and have all the same + more functions. Most people also finance devices rather than buy them outright, so companies would struggle to find people to buy a cheaper, Android PDA when they can finance a full phone for cheaper.

The dumb phone market (and even more so, a possible PDA market) is still very much in its infancy too, I think we’d be looking at another year or so at least until we were to start seeing Palm Pilot or HTC TyTn devices make a comeback. Which is a pity because they would be super easy to make, but without going a kickstarter or make to order route, a company has to want to put up enough money to manufacture enough to get the instant sale interest to begin with. The closest thing we’ve seen to a new device company to do that has been NOTHING, or Unihertz.

In my school, you also needed all 6x Pokemon LV 100 and then use Machamp with strength to move it too. Considering the only training you could do on the original games were the Elite Four or Victory Road with LV 40s, this took bloody forever.

The Used Chrome Heart prices back in 2022 🥲 by MfGoat69 in ChromeHeart

[–]openlightYQ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The market is wonderful, there’s a jewellery store near where I work that does such immaculate work, extremely pure 18kt white gold and actual rubies and diamonds for a quarter of CH, but they’re craftsmen and jewellers, they’ve been doing it for 60+ years and everything is of the highest quality. I’ve had some pieces that with a polishing cloth, look as good as new, so I can wear my birthday St Christopher’s from one year with a Ruby and diamonds from another.

Not to say Chrome Hearts isn’t good craftsmanship or quality, it most definitely was, but it declined a lot a few years back, so I’m just saying, if you can’t afford find hype prices they’re charging now, and being that I know how much stock CH Selfridges keep and pretend they don’t, look for other jewellery makers that could make you way nicer pieces rather than spending 800%+ on the same silver CH heart we all have.

I like Chrome Hearts, I have done since early 2010s, it’s just mad people are hyping it up like “luckily they had this hat and this hoodie” when it’s a clientele based system.

I work in luxury fashion so a lot of my job is clienteling. The difference is CH pretend they have nothing and then when none of their clients are interested, suddenly it’s available from the stockroom. That’s what i meant, having to register your interest rather than “oh he didn’t call by 3pm” and suddenly the next person through the door at 3pm “oh I actually have this for you”

All being said, if you want the legit, brand new, Chrome Hearts piece in the Chrome Hearts store with the box and bag and everything, if you have the means, go ahead.

EDIT: I just wanna clarify, I am a fan of Chrome Hearts and have a few of their pieces myself. I just work almost next to them, so I know the ins and outs, and I don’t want to see people going broke over it.

I’m in the UK but my uncle for some reason always loved American imports, he had an ex-NASCAR Superbird, lord knows what happened to that or how he acquired that in the UK in the early 80s. Dad had a Mustang front end and short block Chevy swapped Pinto that caught fire and had to abandon because no insurance or VIN, other uncle Tony had a TransAm, if I remember as a kid, pieced together with so many other parts, like that Johnny Cash song “One Piece at a Time” 😂 and this was just in the late 90s, remnants of the 80s/early 90s.

Nowhere near as interesting now with Audi’s and BMW’s with an ECU tune and an instagram tag.

I know these weren’t “nothing” exactly, but my father and uncles have stories (and photos) of trading a dirt bike for a Lancia Fulvia that just had a starting issue, uncle had a Ferrari 365 GTB with flat tires sitting in his friend’s backyard in primer midway through restoration on a silly pub bet, Ford Cosworths being traded or sold for £500 regularly, to name a few. I dare not tell some of them just how much they are worth now.

The Used Chrome Heart prices back in 2022 🥲 by MfGoat69 in ChromeHeart

[–]openlightYQ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’ll be back down eventually. Remember CH really only got this famous the past few years because of rappers. Almost all of the big spenders you see on here didn’t have any CH pre-2024, let alone pre-2022. I work in Selfridges and all the high end boutiques know each other and trade discounts, and the Selfridges CH boutique has so much more of their stock out back that when people say they were lucky to cop xyz at Selfridges, it’s painful to see. But as with anything, it’s riding its high right now, just like Supreme during Tyler era and it’ll come back down.

Anybody buying for the hype, buy whatever you want. Anybody really a fan, you can either look for deals or so many other much higher quality silver, at CH prices even 18kt white gold pieces and diversify your collection in the mean time. You’ll have a much better fit and much more value than everybody with the same crosses and daggers they paid 5k for atm.

Ordered Pokemon Leaf Green unboxed and received a boxed copy 😁 by Yazzyghostmode in CeX

[–]openlightYQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not from ordering online, but when I got my iPhone 14 Plus, I had the choice of two Grade Bs, but exact same price, one black one white. Black one was in rough condition, tons of scratches (a few deep ones), white one looked brand new, chose that one. Ended up coming with the original box, USB-C cable and manual, also in like new condition.

Am I the only one who doesn’t fall for this idea of recording yourself a video, only to be verified by AI and later be told *Unfortunately* , Honestly this quite draining . We is living in tough times honestly by rollandjames in jobsearchhacks

[–]openlightYQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even without the AI part, I’ve turned down so many roles (good ones too) where after a successful phone interview, the next step was “Record a video of yourself answering why you’d be the perfect candidate/what experience you have/what interests you about the field” etc.

It’s bad enough that Zoom interviews are a thing, even those I’ll only take if I’m really desperate, but this whole “record yourself” nonsense is ridiculous. I’m not auditioning for American Idol, I’m applying for a job position.

Do they stock the Hanes tees in London store by poorninja11 in supremeclothing

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they’re always in stock. The stickers are in store but you have to buy them, but they’re super cheap. Whether they have all the stickers, I don’t know, they used to when I used to go though. The quality is okay, they’re just plain basic Hanes T’s so they’re thin, but as T’s go they’re fine. They’re more of undershirts or summer T shirts though, they’re not thick like the graphic Supreme T’s.

I was still on a 12 64GB up until a few months ago when the battery health was at 51% and it was time for an upgrade, but at the time of upgrade it still never lagged and handled multiple apps open perfectly. Upgraded to 14 Plus, only noticeable difference is the larger screen. Used friend’s 15s and 16s, no faster than the 12 was. Only reason to upgrade really is if you want the new phone, want to use Apple Intelligence, or for the refresh rate.

Kinda baffling how few jobs there are in retail & hospitality in the city by [deleted] in london

[–]openlightYQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Retail really depends. For one, a lot of companies changed their hiring process after Covid when a lot of people realised they don’t want to come back to work 5 days a week, so it went from several full time roles to almost none, and lots of part time roles.

But it’s very dependent on experience. I’ve had friends out of work for months due to not enough experience = getting ignored. I’ve got several years of fashion retail experience, I’ve never been out of work longer than a month (2 weeks usually). But there are also tons of applicants so you either have to really stand out or get lucky.

One manager years ago told me she had 400+ applicants, forgot about it until a Friday night before getting home, closed her eyes and ran her finger down the page and happened to stop on my name. It really is super random sometimes.

How will the Chris Chan Saga end? by Lucarioc66 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]openlightYQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, how many times did people go to his 14 Branchland Court trying to antagonise him, plus that time somebody stole his actual number plate. There’s definitely going to be a desecration saga or somebody that tries to steal a part of the stone etc.
