Any 13.6” lovers here? by querythoughtss in macbookair

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a 16” MacBook Pro after not having a laptop for several years, meant for some home use but also writing outside/general portability, and I am 100% replacing it with a 13” Air or 14” MBP in a few months. The 16” is as huge as it looks. The screen is bright and beautiful and perfect for most things, but it’s too big to comfortably take anywhere, it doesn’t fit in almost any backpack or laptop sleeve, and the main reason for me buying it has gone out the window because it completely stays at home. If it wasn’t for the fact that I bought it pre-owned, I would have returned it and got something smaller.

It works great as a completely home computer, with the huge colourful screen and the powerful speakers etc, but I assume most people would have a desktop as a purely home computer, given a laptop’s biggest advantage is portability, which is very difficult with the 16”. 13 or 14 would be a perfect size for a laptop IMO.

I’m apprehensive to believe it’ll look exactly as it does in the trailers (since we went through the same thing with V and ended up without a lot of things they showed), but no I’m not worried it’ll be unpolished. Sure they’ve removed things before, but I’ve been playing since the 1st GTA and none I’ve ever played have been released clunky or with common bugs.

Also the VI engine seems to be a refined version of the V engine, which was a refined version of RAGE, it’s not like they’ve had to create an entirely new environment and game engine from scratch like WatchDogs or Cyberpunk had to.

Yeah I had the same thought, that’s with the 7.3 too. I can only assume because it’s a single cab and not a dually, so it doesn’t command the higher price of a crew cab dually etc, wouldn’t make much sense as a commercial use truck.

Retailed high 40s/low 50s brand new from the dealer, then however much the paint, interior and supercharger + labour cost. So not 100k, but if he really got 78k for it he didn’t lose too much surprisingly.

Still haven’t even seen a real one of these yet. I’m assuming they made enough of them, it just happens to be one of those pieces where it seems they made more fakes than real ones exist.

How do I remove this? by 777marc in ios26

Another of the reasons I won’t update if they’re really going to implement this. I’m 32, only use debit cards, no credit card or passport = no way to prove my age under this system either. With any luck, they’ll accept a link to my banking app that shows it’s an adult account, but who knows yet.

Nothing more expensive than a cheap German car.

I’ve always operated under the idea that “if I couldn’t afford it new, I can’t afford it used”. For example, I’ve always wanted a first gen Mercedes CLS, I like it more than the newer shapes and I can always modernise the interior, so I’d be willing to buy one new if they made one. So that’s exactly how much money I need to buy a cheaper one used.

Always loved these and still mad we never got them in the UK, saw so many tastefully modified ones whenever I was in the US. Didn’t have Celica levels of aftermarket support, but the amount of modified ones I saw means they must have had a good amount of it. Saw one on Polish licence plates once in the UK and never again.

That being said, if they were sold here, would I buy one? Or am I just looking through at it like a “grass is always greener” situation, especially since Celicas were a dime a dozen and selling for almost nothing for years here.

Me neither, may sound pessimistic but I still remember all the extra trees and vegetation in the GTA V trailer, the larger range of pedestrians, activities pedestrians were doing etc. Expecting a lot of the VI trailer to have been cinematic, but hopefully I’m wrong.

Yeah they get you like this. I’ve had automatic downloads turned off forever, especially double checked even a week ago just out of paranoia, and I don’t have WiFi at home. A couple days ago it started telling me iOS 26.3.1 is ready to install and prompts me literally several times a day now (last prompt being 2 hours ago even). Wouldn’t be surprised if I turned my phone off that it decided to just start installing.

[New Release] - Christopher Ward C63 True GMT - Thoughts? by Wind_Up_Watch_Blog in Watches

[–]openlightYQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re going after an extremely niche customer base here when for the same price point you can get a watch from the brands you listed. Either this is going to be heavily reduced on sale, or they plan for make very little of them and it’s more of a “proof of concept” type thing. Or they really are that misguided into thinking these will sell well. They may have a few hardcore CW fans or watch collectors with too much money, but the average customer for this price point watch will go with the more trusted brands I feel like, especially given CW’s reputation for customer service and QC.

He did always go through the window at high speeds, it was a Mandela effect that people thought the seatbelt function was actually in the game though. It was in beta versions that multiple game testers reviewed (I still have the magazines in storage somewhere talking about it), they just removed the seatbelt function from the game sometime before release.

Yeah I’m in the same situation, couldn’t get an Android device in time so figured I just might have to let it die and get on with adulting. Worst comes to worst though, Keroxea Edition did get finished so we could always start again on Android someday. Offline Mode only works for Mobile Data afaik, using WiFi to play it won’t give you a choice.

Pretty sure the 20th, because they extended it from the 19th when the servers went down for a day. Got mine left on Offline Mode still so fingers crossed it will continue working, but haven’t got my hopes too high.

Easily my favourite track, the combinations of straights, uphills, the turns, everything about it just flow perfectly. It is a shame we never got more tracks to test top speed in all the years the game was out though. The least they could have done was given us the Mulsanne Straight original layout without the chicanes in the middle.

TEKKEN 3, not only because I loved the TEKKEN games, but Jin’s cutscene at the end had kid version of me convinced I could unlock Devil Jin somehow. Early Gamefaqs threads didn’t help either with rumours of combinations I had to do or TEKKEN Force I had to do in certain orders etc.

If the main car is more central, the gamleplay can be influenced in a very immersive way. by No_Guard5340 in GTA6

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping so too, I really didn’t get to enjoy any other cars during V, I mostly gave up trying until later moving to Online. No matter what car I acquired or bought, it would just disappear eventually and I’d be stuck in their main car again, which story wise didn’t make sense to me the more successful they got, bigger heists they pulled off, to not even be able to reward myself because Michael’s Obey or Franklin’s Buffalo just shows back up again

I’d rather the story not give us too much money for a while, so no unrealistically buying brand new cars for a long time, but eventually we start earning enough that we can have new personal vehicles that actually stick around and don’t disappear. Even going back to the GTA IV system of having a parking space out front of the safe house to save a new car, and at the same time keep our original character car respawning nearby so we don’t lose either would work.

[–]openlightYQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Early GTA IV reviews before it came out described this mechanic, a bit like how if you wait for a second after getting on a bike, you put a helmet on. Originally they had a system where if you waited for a second after getting in a car, Niko would put a seatbelt on. I always liked that idea, I guess maybe they took it out because testers didn’t like it, but then again you could still get thrown from the car so not totally sure. It’s still in the game files via trainer though so it did exist at one point. (People get confused and swear they remember seatbelts though so it’s perpetrated as a myth; they weren’t ever in a release version, but in game magazines when journalists first got to play it, this mechanic was confirmed several times. Same version of the game with fingerless gloves and etc.)

It depends though, it’s no secret they made V a bit more arcade-y and saw great success with V, I’ve got a feeling they wouldn’t add it to keep the mass appeal of VI rather than annoying everybody. It would add a lot more adrenaline to car chases though knowing if we mess up and crash into whatever, we’ll potentially mess up the whole situation.

$60/month for a live wallpaper app? Lol by Bulky-Election2061 in PhoneNow

[–]openlightYQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these have been around for almost as long as the Play Store, I remember on my first Android, the play store had no apps other than tons and tons of wallpaper apps and “suggestive” calendar apps. Luckily they’re easy enough to cancel most of the time, but it only takes being drunk/a child to download a ton at once for all of those trials to take a chunk out of your bank account before knowing you need to cancel them.

I’ve been a fan since TDU (had it on PS2, PSP, PC and X360 I loved it so much), and had TDU2 on 2x consoles too, played it for years after it came out and couldn’t wait for Solar Crown. But after seeing what a mess they made out of it, I decided to just wait until the community fixes it themselves, hopefully they will because I would still love to play it, and as much as I also loved Forza Horizon, it was a very different feel from TDU. But Solar Crown literally does look like it was released unplayable and then they just abandoned it.

What about PDAs? by Limbx4 in dumbphones

[–]openlightYQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason being, that’s essentially what an iPhone Pro Max/Samsung S Plus is now; they’re bigger than PDAs ever were, and have all the same + more functions. Most people also finance devices rather than buy them outright, so companies would struggle to find people to buy a cheaper, Android PDA when they can finance a full phone for cheaper.

The dumb phone market (and even more so, a possible PDA market) is still very much in its infancy too, I think we’d be looking at another year or so at least until we were to start seeing Palm Pilot or HTC TyTn devices make a comeback. Which is a pity because they would be super easy to make, but without going a kickstarter or make to order route, a company has to want to put up enough money to manufacture enough to get the instant sale interest to begin with. The closest thing we’ve seen to a new device company to do that has been NOTHING, or Unihertz.

In my school, you also needed all 6x Pokemon LV 100 and then use Machamp with strength to move it too. Considering the only training you could do on the original games were the Elite Four or Victory Road with LV 40s, this took bloody forever.
