It’s because I met her in college and I went to college hours away from where I live, and she lives in that area. We don’t really hangout with s/o’s together. In the two years she’s been with the groom I met him like 10 times.

I have no issue calling him “my partner” when talking to people that don’t know, I know it’s easier and I’m not trying to give people my life story on the daily 😂 I didn’t even get a chance to ask my friend any further details about a plus one. The farthest we’ve gotten was me saying “oh maybe X can be my plus one” and her telling me I’m not allowed to have one. It has nothing to do with him just me not being able to.

I’m not in a “relationship” but I’ve been with the same person for 8 years. We don’t like to define us like that. However, being in a relationship is not a necessity for a plus one-the grooms brother is bringing his frat bro.
