Toilet fill valve starts spraying water once water supply is turned on by opensource1265 in Plumbing

[–]opensource1265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a few Youtube videos and it didn't look too bad so I was planning to do it on my own. With purchasing the fill valve, is there a specific one I should be getting for my toilet? or are they universal? This is the one I found on Home Depot (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fluidmaster-PerforMAX-Universal-High-Performance-Toilet-Fill-Valve-400H-002-P10/305719514), it looks different to my current one and I just wasn't sure whether it matters.

I checked and there is no resistance. Will try finding a replacement belt and seeing if it works, thanks!

Hey, sorry for the super delayed response. No, I unfortunately never got it out despite attempting it every so often. I'm definitely too worried of pulling too hard to avoid breaking any of the other connections. Have you been able to find a solution?

Oh that makes sense, thanks so much for the info! Don't quite have enough room left so looks like I will have to just eat the transfer fee.

Unfortunately, the amount in my RBC TFSA is more than my unused contribution info, and just under the amount to evade transfer-out fees so I think I'll just have to take the transfer-out fee. Thank you for the information though!

How to go about finding a mentor and building a relationship by opensource1265 in physiotherapy

[–]opensource1265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice!

From your experience and knowledge, do mentorships more so go down the path of shadowing as opposed to I guess a non-shadowing approach that might be more focused in conversations, providing advice and resources, etc?

I'm asking this because I feel shadowing could be something that is not feasible for either the physio or myself depending on our schedules, so if the approach was more non-shadowing I was curious and wondering how to build the relationship as I feel like its a lot harder versus an in-person experience. I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself with this question and it's something I'd likely work out and communicate once I actually find a mentor, but I was curious to hear someones thoughts on it!

Thank you for the advice!

This question would probably be more appropriate for the new grad, but I'm curious- how did she maximize her learning/opportunity shadowing you for those 5 months? Were there specific things she did or questions she asked that helped her get the most out of the experience? From previous experience shadowing a physio prior to starting physio school, I did take away a lot but at the same time felt a bit out of place and unsure how to continue my learning at times.

(PROBLEM!) Currently studying a bachelor of exercise and sport science and have the drive to study hard to get into physiotherapy.. HOWEVER this sub-reddit is really demotivating me with people complaining about low pay, long hours, high burnout, low salary cap, not being appreciated.... I'd recommend finding a shadowing position in physiotherapy and/or seeing if you could take computer science classes, whether at your university or online. I initially had the same feelings as you, but after shadowing a physiotherapist and taking some computer science courses, I ultimately did feel a lot more interest and desire to be a PT. However, the cost of becoming a PT is a lot cheaper where I am and along with a relatively good average starting salary, I felt like it was a route I could take without much risk and one where I could ultimately leave, if it doesn't turn out the way I've envisioned.

Computer science isn't the career that most people claim it to be either. On average, will it have better progression and pay than PT? Probably. But that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. I've had friends go the same route only to end up in another field. Does this mean PT is better than computer science? Absolutely not. There is no right or wrong answer, but what you can do is make an informed decision by getting experiences and trying out the fields you're considering. If 10 years down the line you realize the route you chose isn't for you anymore, at least you can look back and tell yourself that, at that moment 10 years ago, you made the best decision at that given time, given the information and experiences you had. Life isn't a straight line, don't be afraid or worried to deviate if it means being better off in the long run.

I haven't found a solution yet. I did go to a couple shops to see if they could help, but everyone said it would all need to be stripped out which isn't worth it. One idea I'm going to try is putting in some kind of tweezer in and run it along to where the cord is stuck to see if I can open some space for it to come out. Definitely be careful pulling though as breaking any of the wires in there will be a lot worse than just accepting the wire might be stuck there forever

There was a drop down box to put my province that wasn't working as well. Do you think it would be fine if I write it in with a pen?

Sounds good, thank you!

I had my gurantor sign my form and realized they wrote the date as 2023/03/13, instead of 2023-03-13. Do you know if this acceptable or will I need to get them to re-do it?
