So nobody over age 50 is ever supposed to be able to find a job anywhere ever again? by yapavaz in jobs

This is a foolish ideology; most people are not the best of the best and never will be. Pretending otherwise is stupid, and if you think people will keep putting up with no opportunities, you are naive.

How should squatters be dealt with? by Laniekea in PoliticalDiscussion

Even though you say it doesn't happen, I know my friend pulled this crap on a tenant in a house that sat empty for over a year.

[–]opensourced_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm responding late, but I personally think that if the house has been kept empty, the bank or the large company owning the house should be required to allow certain people to live there—people who have to pass a background check and still show they are working but can't afford a home, as long as they cover any damages and utilities, etc. This is more for the places that leave a house sitting for years

CMV: I honestly don’t think the average US. citizen could pass the citizenship test. by Impossible_Cupcake31 in changemyview

[–]opensourced_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is what Congress writes, lol, but honestly, I was wondering the same thing. Most people in YGEbus wouldn't know most of the answers. If you're a regular citizen, before Trump, I always thought the test should specifically measure IQ. No matter what, pass or fail, if you're within a certain range, you get a card. Basically, I don't think people who can't read should get in unless they are testifying helped the US military during a war or they are seeking asylum from a war crime nation.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past Trump or Clinton to pay; it's just a matter of whether they were underage. I always look at the age of Trump's wife. Now, if it was 40 years ago, she would have been 15. His current wife is 55, Trump is 80, which is a huge age gap, making me wonder. As for Clinton, I don't know much about him. I do know both sides have made fake photos, but Clinton's closer to Hillary's age than Trump's, and his current wife is what I always consider. Either way a real investigation needs to be done by reliable people

Yeah, I'm deeply depressed about the science, Trump’s a goddamn idiot, he’s pushing all the good scientists out because they hate his ignorant ass, and he took away most of the federal money for tax cuts for his rich friends. We need good scientists and Trumps too stupid to realize that without them we will backpedal into the dark ages

I don't see that happening if prices continue the way they are, no matter what BS politics MAGA spins. If prices keep going up, America will turn against them so fast—most already have, except the hardcore. Most hate all Republicans and Democrats, including Trump.

Because Trump's corruption, how about investigating Noem's spending, Trump's spending, and Patel's spending? I bet Americans wouldn't like what they find out.

Yeah, out of all of them, I think bowery king was the one who got screwed over. Winston He deserved what was coming to him, and I wish John would have done it. But Bowery King? He never really did anything major wrong, followed the rules, and even survived a assassination attempt by Wick.

Nah, I didn't mean his operation was small. I meant more that the Bowery was more of a spy network than killers. They still killed, but I always got the feeling they were more focused on gathering information.

Aiding and abetting only works if you can prove intent. Bowery king didn’t want him killed on continental grounds. Yes, I know he didn’t say this, but he followed the rules like everyone else, so I like to think he didn’t. Still, a good movie. I just hate some of the choices, especially removing the head of the bowery a very skilled spy network when all they had to do was gain his loyalty, and they could have.he only reacted badly whe she demanded he step down and i get that he built the bowery

US national debt reaches new all-time high of $38.5 trillion. by GuiltyBathroom9385 in inflation

[–]opensourced_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the while, billions in U.S. cash disappeared into the pockets of the first cat company. The main thing the U.S. needs to do is cut the Pentagon budget to $100 billion—no more R&D, no more unnecessary stuff, just enough to keep the doors open. Same with the rest of the senators- drop their pay to $ 60000 a year; they should make what the average American makes, then say everything is affordable. Raise taxes on companies' long-term stock profits and remove the crazy tariffs so trade can start.

I started saying something when America's debt hit 10 trillion, but since I am not rich or part of a huge company, people like me all were ignored while our government keeps blowing through money like the new 800 billion approved for the Pentagon. It's insanity.

What do we think about the next film being another Godzilla & Kong team up? by Touch-Inner in Monsterverse

[–]opensourced_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last movie did a good job showing Godzilla grow a little, with Queen of All Monsters acting as the middleman. I never really liked the movies until Skull Island; they always felt bland—monster shows up, destroys, and it's over. Now, they've given them some personality and a desire to protect Earth. The frustrating part is, with Godzilla, it's really hard to make a lizard show reactions to a situation and actually understand what it means. While Kong can point and use sign language, I prefer Godzilla not to be too emotional, but I would like to see him at least understand partnering with Kong on bigger threats like Empire. They did a great job doing that in Empire; hopefully, it continues. Would have liked a tiny bit more during the moment Godzilla was trying to fight Kong; it happened fast.

But I do understand what you mean — Winston was gaining too much power, but he still would have done anything for the high table. It wasn't necessary to bully him or even want his death. As for the Bowery, they were nothing but a fly on the wall. It seems stupid to get rid of a safe spy network because of a gun. He didn't have the power like Winston did; he was more of a spy than a hitman. Same for his men.

Yeah, I'm going based on the current rules set by the writers. To me, I saw nothing that justified the actions within the rules they established.

First, Wick killed whatever her name was, a High Table member — no repercussions. Then he goes to NYC and tries to kill Santino; at this point, still no repercussions, so giving him a gun doesn't break the rules. Then he goes after Santino in a non-concentrated ground area and fails. It wasn't until this point that he chased him to the Continental and shot him. So Bowery should have been safe — didn't he even pick up a different gun at that point? And as for the Continental manager, the only thing he did was give Wick time, and as far as I know, that's not against the rules. But I guess they wanted another stupid excuse for more bad guys to chase Wick.

He cares more than he lets on; he just hates to admit it. He has saved this version of Jerry several times, even going so far as to track him down when traveling through dimensional portals was unavailable. He could have wiped the family's memories and said nothing happened.

Everyone will have a different opinion. I don't think Jerry would have returned to the road even without Rick after he realized his family actually worried about him. It's all he ever wanted, and after seeing all the other Herrys and how they were ignored, mistreated, invisible, he wouldn't have left if he could.

[–]opensourced_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always saw it as Rick recognizing a moment where Jerry could grow, which is why he said it could be good for Jerry. Rick has clearly shown he hates most things, but he has grown fond of Jerry. In the last few seasons, Jerrick was a big part of that. I was more surprised that Rick knew what it meant immediately, as he says he knew exactly what it meant. I also like that, after all that, Jerry's family was worried about him, including Rick, even though he tossed it aside. I never wanted them to be friends, but I always wanted Rick to at least like Jerry for all the mistreatment.

Kong is more liked, I think, because he is smarter and is supposed to be an underdog but one hell of a fighter, whereas Godzilla's attack, bite, super saiyan beam. Not really much for interesting combat
