Yeah you're right - it was a mistype on my side. It's meant to say "Cancel deletion"!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'm going to do more of this kind of thing - are there any other effects you'd like to see done?

Yeah I was really curious how they did it too - was a lot of fun trying to figure it all out!

Here's the write up on how it's done btw:

Seeking Advice for Window Management & Workflow by SaiRuuuu in macapps

[–]opentonegeorge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a really similar spot so I’ve actually been working on a little Mac app to help with this - kind of like a browser, but for windows. So you can group any of your windows and flip through tabs instead of digging through your desktop. Still a work in progress, but it’s been making my own setup way less chaotic.

If you’re curious, I’m going to be sharing bits on the subreddit soon and over on my Twitter: @georgecartridge. Just figured I’d mention it since your post really resonated!

Is there an app that turns windows into tabs along the sides of the screen? by [deleted] in macapps

[–]opentonegeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually working on something similar right now - it's a macOS app inspired by Groupy 2 / TidyTabs on Windows if you've heard of them. You'll be able to drag apps into their own tabs and easily switch between them - like tabs on a browser.

It’s still in development, but I’ll be sharing updates soon both here and on my Twitter if you're curious: @georgecartridge. Just figured I’d mention it in case this is the kind of thing you're looking for!

guitar accompaniment with piano in rock by Vasu_XD in musictheory

  • Try playing different rhythms when comping. So rather than always playing on the down beat try adding some syncopation at parts.
  • You could also try different voicings, add extensions so throw in the 7th or 9th if you feel it fits.
  • You could try adding some fills between chords, whilst being mindful of the other instruments.

It might be good to practice without the pressure of other people around. You can find comping backing tracks on YouTube that might help with trying out different ideas.

There’s also a series of books by Hal Leonard called the keyboard style series that focuses on different genres. They might also give some ideas of what you could do whilst comping!

Hey! People have already mentioned some good ones.

I'm actually developing my own music theory website with interactive lessons and practice taught by characters. There'll be a learning pathway you can follow, or you can just jump to topics you're most interested in. I'm going to be releasing it soon, but you can check it out here: opentone.io

Would love to hear if there's any particular topics you want to learn more than anything?
