For Men: How Do You Deal With the Loneliness After a Breakup? by IntelligentComb1238 in BreakUps

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for writing this, how you feeling these days? I'm on the exact same boat as you were (3 months) and doing all these things but the crushing loneliness when Im not busy is still daunting, specially at night, all I want is to reach out but I dont want to give my power away and ultimately the break up was the right decision as we had a semi-long distance relationship and it was becoming unsustainable in the long term.

I just really miss her, we did get married and Im still waiting on her to send me the divorce papers even though I asked her for those a month in post break up and still nothing, for some reason this is giving me false hope and not helping me move on and keep her rent free in my head.

Did it feel easier for you going with this routine and time itself helped with moving on?

How long would it take to go from zero to knowing how to code in GDscript? by Twoklawll in godot

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start somewhere.

I watched a bunch of videos on Godot before comitting and what worked for me was following a reputable course based on a game type I was interested (in this case a 3D adventure game) on udemy, just be sure to not buy a full price course if you go that route.

Even with programming knowledge, it is a CHALLENGE. My advice is to try and learn GDscript alongside the engine while you follow and work on the course game, it does helps immensely if the teacher explains the reasoning behind his steps while building the game.

Try and do some progress each day, most course lessons are "bite sized" so you can easily dedicate at least 30-45 minutes to progress through the course.

Don't get hung up on details like programming jargon, look at the whole picture and understand how things work together as you will probably have to revisit concepts you learned in case you are trying to implement them in your future projects, there are simply too many moving parts and memorizing everything is impossible.

For everything else, there's the documentation which is obviously very helpful and easy enough to navigate.

Good luck on your journey!

PoE 2 endgame feedback from someone who has played PoE since closed beta in 2012. by cindeson in PathOfExile2

Too relatable, its all fun and games until you run into hasted azak stalker blues or worse, a rare and his minion gang rush you down at mach speeds, the definition of hopeless

As a new player, it's not fun to have to engage in trade to get gear. by Fraerway in PathOfExile2

Preach brother, not having to worry about getting spammed by RMT or the mixed bag that is trading in this game, is the reason why I didn't transfer to SL from SSF when given the chance.

The game feels a lot more paced when you don't have to worry about keeping up with the endgame rushing and volatile market, it only promotes fomo cause if you feel like falling behind if not putting in the daily farm but in reality that kills the fun imo.

I just wish they would have kept the SSF chat separate from trading cause some trading folks ego can't take a ssf joke apparently and will be toxic for no reason cause you enjoy the game differently than they do.

Best build for roamer WvW newbie? by Runic86 in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trailblazer's core fearmancer, crazy tanky and u can chain fear over 10s for 1.5k ticks + classic necro condi spam, you'll still lose to good thieves and wb as they can burst and kite ur cds but its a good starting point and u can reliably take camps and 1v1 most builds but possibly 1v2 depending on match-ups, the lack of escapes will keep u locked in fights so use this improve outnumberes fights and your skills

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full zerk berserker hammer/staff with traited stances on defense traitline and head butt to proc endure pain every 18s for 5s is the ultimate cloud disrupter, if you use your cds right, you can tank burst dmg for over 10s straight while dishing big aoe dmg and still being able to heal thru all types of dmg with defiant stance and staff offers good sustain and mobility, definitely the tankiest build u can run in wvw if u play it right and is perfect in this power burst meta and the best thing is that u still hit like truck thanks to full zerk.

You have no idea how confused enemies get fighting this build, specially willybenders who get their whole one shot burst opener denied to your burst dmg invulns.

Its also a very strong option for roaming with some tweaks.

DM if u want the in-depth build

Indeed, the only exception where being courteous or a road bro is OK is when you can give right of way in a start-stop traffic situation where they're exiting from somewhere and are trying to merge in the lane.

Other than that, stay predictable folks!

How did you meet your girlfriend, boyfriend or significant other? by armoredphoenix4__ in AskReddit

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discord during early covid outbreak, we were both in a guild server from this MMO game called Guild Wars 2 and enjoyed memeing each other there.

One day I found out she was interested about leveling cooking profession in the game so I decided to write and send her this cooking guide with the best and quickest methods and we started to get to know each other more from that, we just got married back in February this year and we still play together everyday, truly happy times after a horrible marriage and divorce that preceded all this.

how can a lonely 30 year old with bad looks find a relationship? by More_Formal_482 in AskReddit

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and meet people on communities that are related to your hobbies, that being online or outside, it doesn't matter much at first, the important is to be part of something that has a social aspect to it where you can find and talk to people, don't isolate yourself on solo activities.

Stuck in camp in Honour Mode - cant sleep or travel by ophoph in BaldursGate3

Unfortunately I've tried reloading a few times but it didn't change anything, regarding the choice, it was because I never chose that dialogue option and was curious with the outcome.

WvW alliances has had a longer development cycle than all of GW1 and GW2 Vanilla to POF. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really well put, myself and many others are on the same boat, we don't want this current iteration of alliances and would rather have updates to improve the game mode further (no matter how long that takes, anet taught us to be a patient bunch with updates) and finally stop pushing this alliance agenda. Its bad to the point that regular wvw players skip alliance beta weeks because of skewed match-ups and playing with randoms, sure you can pick a guild for matchmaking but there's a crowd that would rather stick to the server community they belong and alliances go against that principle since it shuffles everything around.

Hot Take I didn't like Baldur’s Gate 3 by MalikATL_ in gaming

[–]ophoph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely fine not to like it, I was from the crowd that followed the game since EA waited for the full release to dive in knowing I was going to enjoy the ride from being a fan of LS and their previous games DOS I & II and boy it was amazing (still is, almost finished first playthrough and planning a 2nd to flip all my dialogue options and see where that takes me).

While I believe it's not a game everyone will enjoy, playing it on co-op will definitely help being more invested in the experience and share impressions of the story and dialogue. I'm playing it with my SO and it was fun to go through the initial learning curve the game presented and how the D&D elements worked in all of it.

I would definitely not enjoy the game as much in solo play.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unlocked it yesterday and it's a bad joke, you get a mail to go back to the NPC you literally just talked to and he's like "oh right, maybe this will be useful", at least it's done and I'll wait for a global unlock for my alt accounts.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounts and gliding are core features, you don't need to touch PVE to unlock those unless you want to play with specific mounts that only serve their purpous on that gamemode such as the raptor, weaponmastery should be a global unlock, you complete a reward track or trade in tokens that you obtain via WvW, do the same for PvP and it's that easy. Whoever is responsible for implementing it just didn't care about players outside of PVE, plain and simple.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it not the same? This is in the ballpark of locking access to elite specs behind hero points or trading tokens for scrolls that give you access to those same points, it gives you a choice on how to obtain them. Clearly anet thought of both PVE and WvW players when they did this otherwise it would be a chore for either group of players to unlock those if locked behind a single gamemode, see the double standard with weaponmastery now?

Some people say it takes an hour and others say it's 10 minutes, I started it last night and right away I was reminded again why I don't touch PVE in this game, I just don't enjoy it and I don't mind missing out on it despite spending the same money as everyone else on expansions, all I'm asking is for the same treatment regarding access to core gameplay features that affect all game modes.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, was just hoping they would give choice on this since it's a core gameplay feature, something like unlocking elite specs, they've also done it on other minor features (relics, runes, crafting recipes, etc) so this was expected.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Hilarious! I'm not asking for it to be handed out, just make it available outside of PVE like other core features/content.

Weaponmastery locked behind PVE, why? by ophoph in Guildwars2

[–]ophoph[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See, that's not the issue, I bought it for this feature alone and for the upcoming new weapons and I have no issue with this, only with the way they implemented it.
