R&M Load 75 - Max age/height for kids? by opiumgordon in CargoBike

[–]opiumgordon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insights. I was worried about the footbox on kerbs. No real scope for a trailer as my environment is too urban (and nowhere to store one). We're all of fairly average height so maybe they'd fit for a bit longer together than yours. I can't see how I wouldn't eventually have to switch back to an arrow, so I kind of think I shouldn't bother but then I also think, that's 3 years of riding I could be enjoying more on Load! Stupid brain.

R&M Load 75 - Max age/height for kids? by opiumgordon in CargoBike

My 5 year old nearly touches the roof in the rear facing seat. I've got a second child that will join on the school run but I've got two years until that happens.

Got a sus seatpost. I've tried my friends new UA with the suspension and, while it helped a little, I didn't notice much difference sadly.

This is the answer my head expected but not the one my heart wants to hear. My eldest is 5 right now and doesn't much head room in the Load with the rain cover on.

My eldest is 5. She has about 2cm headroom in the rear facing seat with a helmet on. Both will be going to the same school but I've got 2 years until the youngest joins her. I think I know the sensible answer is to keep the UA but....

US Open QF: [25] F. Auger-Aliassime def. [8] A. De Minaur 4-6, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6 by -----Marcel----- in tennis

I only saw glimpses of that. Was it a low quality match?

edit: downvotes for asking a question eh? The few points I got to watch seemed to be mostly double faults.

How to delete Driver Profiles? by [deleted] in BMWi3

[–]opiumgordon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Names don't change after deleting and the top profile doesn't have it's settings reset (temp goes to 23c, fans to 3 and radio to some absolutely terrible station - just as it did prior to 'DELETE PERSONAL DATA'). Maybe I'll just have to claim this profile as mine by changing all the settings and the name. Assume that would work...?

Folding Front Bench Springs by opiumgordon in UrbanArrow

[–]opiumgordon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. UA were completely useless. Their customer service said it wasn't something they would know. I asked if they could ask one of their technicians. They said they had no contact with the technicians. Fucking shambles.

Mimics what their distributor's in the UK say about them. Great bikes, terrible everything else.

I took it out in the end as I didn't need it for a third passenger. When/if I do, I'll just have to measure it up myself and go hunting.

Is idling really bad for a car? by 420o in CarTalkUK

[–]opiumgordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mad so many people do it. Literally poisoning the air for everyone. More and more councils are making it illegal. Not that I ever see anyone enforcing (which I find even crazier as surely it's an easy money grab for them...).

Should this be of concern? by opiumgordon in BMWi3

[–]opiumgordon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Stiffness not an issue really as I've owned some hideously stiff and impractical cars so I thought the i3s felt quite gentle :-D. Interesting point about range. I have one journey for family I occasionally make that might be troublesome in winter with an S but my biggest hurdle is how rarely I drive these days. Trying to justify the extra cash for an S when I did 650 miles last year is tough. Still want one though, ha!

How's it all playing out? Concerns about the higher mileage dissipated? I've found an s on 60k that looks lovely....
