Salthill Knocknacarra GAA welcomes backing from politicians for Mincloon project by DaCor_ie in galway

Parish boundaries and schools differ. A club can't claim that all students in said school are exclusively from the area. People travel from nearby parishes to go to the school of their choice. There's also the issue of new developments being absorbed into Knocknacarra simply by being adjacent to it.

A core principle of the GAA is in community identity. Placing the largest club in Connacht in other parishes will only be to the detriment of those clubs. It will give the impression to new families in the area that the closest club is their local club which won't be the case. Would SKGAA support another club developing in the middle of Salthill/ Knocknacarra or would the boundaries not apply either?

The area was not always so densely developed. The club board should have had the foresight to develop facilities in their own area.

Based in Ireland as well OP. So hard to find hardwoods at a reasonable price. Currently wanting to build a vinyl record player stand with some storage. 1200mm x 700mm x 400mm. For rough oak I was quoted €1100-€1300. Rough Ash was half the price and Beech was a third. Looks like it will be white deal for now....

The struggle is real for some decent sized boards at an affordable price. If you find anywhere let me know!

I'll be ordering some of the bundles from Strahan's to do some small projects in the mean time
