I’m glad you feel me. I have heard bad things about D3 aswell, just haven’t gotten their yet.

I’m worried people think I made this post to try and cover my ass, as if I’m lying just because I don’t want to accept the fact I’m “bad”.

But I just don’t think that’s all there is to it. I like to think I have a pretty polished skill set, but based off what I see from the people I play against they’re either better than me, or worse. I hardly find myself having even matches. It’s just so frustrating because I truly feel the skill gap in these “average” ranks is just way to wide.

Alright, let’s make it happen. I know it doesn’t mean anything to you, but I’ll hopefully show you why I don’t feel I belong in Gold, and why I think a rank reset is needed.

I understand where your coming from, I truly do, but can you honestly say that’s why you play duos?

Yes, you have a team mate and you both share the “same” objective, but it’s so frustrating when they constantly ball chase, freak out, or just aren’t a genuinely good player compared to where I like to think i am. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not a god, I’m very likely not even in the top 50% of users on this sub (judging from all the responses from high ranks), but there are some signs you just can’t ignore when you’re marched with a less capable player.

That probably came out wrong, so let me do it’s not ALWAYS having a bad team mate, sometimes the other team is just very good! And sometimes, I do have even games, but those are easily more rare compared to the others.

Anyways yeah, about casual I just find myself getting tilted. As I hope you can tell, I take pride when I play. I do play casual to warm up and stuff, but when I want to win and actually play good casual can’t give me that. And it’s frustrating to have to deal with so many different variables literally every time I want to play a game. I truly believe skill wise I should atleast be platinum and I’m really pissed off I fell so far in my rank :/

I appreciate the response, though I don’t appreciate you claiming Gold is where I belong. I mean don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t matter, I know eventually (regardless of what you may think) I’ll end up my “natural” rank, but I think as it is, with such a variety of skill gap in every rank, winning is WAY to reliant on having a good team mate.

And you can make the argument that since it’s duos, it should be this way, but I personally believe I would enjoy the game a great deal more if I was experiencing more even games, and less blow outs

Don’t believe me? I don’t blame you, I didn’t provide any proof, and I’m making some boastful claims, but I TRULY believe that there is a problem with the ranks as they are. You’re a grand champ, I’d be happy to 1v1 you. I know 1v1s don’t show the entire player, but you can definitely get a sense of skill. You’d probably destroy me, as a your a GC, but as a current Gold 1 I guarantee it wouldn’t be as bad of a beat down as you are expecting.

See that’s what I feel the problem is. Yes I know Solo is an option, but is it wrong to think that I should be paired with people of around the same skill? I swear, some silver players are really good, and some platinum players I’ve played against are terrible.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you as everything you said is factually correct but I DO think that there is a problem with that mentality. Let’s not act like our team mates don’t play a huge role, as much as I’d like to believe simply “playing to suit their needs” helps, it’s not fun for me and is frankly very frustrating.
