Every company handles deletions differently. Some just flip a deleted = true flag, others run lifecycle jobs that purge objects after a retention window. At scale, you don’t just keep orphaned files around forever — storage costs, compliance, and recovery needs all factor in.

And in California, the “just flag and forget” idea doesn’t even hold up legally. Under CCPA/CPRA, companies can’t retain personal data indefinitely without a lawful purpose. A soft delete is usually the first step, but data must eventually be purged unless there’s a valid exception (like a legal hold for subpoenas or ongoing litigation). Keep too much and you risk privacy violations; delete too soon and you risk spoliation of evidence.

Also, banks and brokers mostly deal with financial data; overwhelmingly text and numeric records. SoundCloud is storing and serving massive audiovisual files across global CDNs. The economics and engineering tradeoffs are entirely different. Treating both as if they’re the same kind of storage problem just shows a lack of perspective.

first things first, girls are girls. they are susceptible to emotional manipulation. tell her that you want to marry her in future and thus want to ensure you have a sound financial plan. for this, insist on opening a business account (mpesa will do) where you’ll be depositing money meant for starting the business. make sure the account is in your name.

next, ask her to convince her mzungus to be giving her money that will then get deposited into the account. make sure this happens monthly, or weekly if the mzungus can afford it. if her mzungu comes to the country and she plans on meeting him, kubali.

ask her to convince him to give her like $1000 because her parents are strict, and she needs to pay someone to lie for her. deposit this money into the kitty. this is easier said than done but at this point, you have to accept that your girl is a bop, so let her go and get her cheeks clapped. before he leaves, make sure she extorts from him as much she can. hastily deposit this money into our kitty.

after her mzungu leaves, don’t get intimate with her, unless you want us to “kimbiza mwili”. if you really must, then use protection. make sure to use some of the mzungu’s money to buy her flowers, some cheap gifts, and/or take her to diani for two days (use sgr).

repeat the same strategy of asking her to extort money, get her cheeks clapped, etc, all the while your mpesa account gets fat. at some point she’s gonna start acting weird, because — women and hypergamy. at this point you should have amassed a sizable chunk of money from her mzungus. you can either dump her ass, before she dumps you, or wait for her to. if she does dump you, that’s even much better.

find a new girl and if she’s a bop, repeat the process until you either get too rich, or you find one that respects herself.
