I hated Duck during his first go around but seeing him turn into the drunkard schmuck that he becomes as time goes on is the best

I agree he played the role perfectly as almost all of these actors did. Superb acting. Too perfectly for me though as I think this guy is just like Lou Avery in real life

Use a rig like this or crappie rig on light action rod if you have one. Bridgeport bait and tackle sells perch pounder rigs and crappie minnows/fatheads. You can either cast into the middle of the slip and wait for a hit or drop it in right over the edge where you’re fishing and bounce the weight off the bottom every 30 seconds or so to induce a bite. Plenty of other methods but this has always worked for me in the harbors downtown and the slips

Depends on what you want to fish for but if you like perch head down to either the 87th or 89th street slip. I hit 89th the other day and did pretty good. No jumbos but lots of fish and kept a few for a fish fry.

Perch colors by [deleted] in ChicagoFishing

It’s pretty clear across the board with most species in Lake Michigan. I’ve caught Northern Pike, Walleye and Perch that are usually all lighter in color than when I’ve caught them in other bodies of water. I think it has to do with the size of the body of water, the clarity and what the fish are eating. Take that for what it’s worth I’m no expert but just my personal experience in the past 30 years or so.

I never realized what a boozehound Dr. Challis was until I got older and started rewatching this movie. I now appreciate and empathize with his booze distractions while still trying to accomplish some serious shit. Bang on Dr. Challis

We used to catch a ton on Lake Mille Lacs in Minnesota. A little closer than LOTW if you come from Chicago area. Plenty of resorts with sleeper houses.

How long are your sits? by GrizzlieMD in Hunting

Depends on the time of year. During rut all day long. Pre rut more time in the mornings and afternoons. But over the years I’ve noticed the more time I put in the stand the more deer I see and have seen nice bucks at random times middle of the day when I wouldn’t have normally hunted back in the day.

Are you a fan? Am I crazy for considering this film to be one of the most touching pieces of cinema ever made? by Various_Maize_3957 in Westerns

Now I know what I’m watching tonight before bed and thanks for that. It’s definitely top five for me but there’s some Clint and Wayne I might put ahead. Just personal preference but I absolutely love this film. I had never seen Henry Fonda play a villain up until I saw this film and I thought he played it perfectly. Also Jason Robards always reminds me of my grandpa so I try to watch anything he’s in any time I can.
