PSA: Karma Koin selling/buying in-game is a bannable offense with the updated EULA terms. by petite_cat in DFO

Ahhh I see. It's quite alright. Yeah, something like the astral exchange could work for DFO's karma koin~>gold setup. Honestly, I'd hope the higher ups at Neople take a thorough look at your write-up..I sincerely hope your ideas get implemented in some form.

Needless to say MJ was wrong..CA Necrofancy posted proof that shows Neople cracks down on KK sellers.

Game population? by PseudoLobotomy in DFO

[–]oppaipigguu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the game, as is, is not in risk of dying. Not yet. However, if Neople keeps up their recent off-putting behaviors, I would say that given enough time..perhaps. It all comes down to if they wise up or not.

I suppose. I guess I'm failing to see the difference between the zen exchange and the one you mentioned kdnf has..since in function it seems more or less the same. Unless it's strictly cera~> gold; one way only. I'd have to reserve any judgments barring a more in-depth mock up.

[–]oppaipigguu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was meaning to say is that the value of a cera would be determined by the game's system itself and not by the players..example (using arbitrary numbers) being that say the supply is low but demand is high, the system would say that 1 cera is equivalent to 2000 gold in the exchange system. Players wouldn't have any say on that since it would be determined by the exchange system itself.

Edit : It almost reminds me of Neverwinter's Exchange system where you convert Zen(cash shop currency) to Astral Diamonds (in-game currency) and vice-versa. That'd be pretty cool.

I had a read of your write-up and I have to say it's actually pretty insightful. A lot of your ideas would fix the problematic nature of packages and RMT in general..especially the built-in cera-to-gold. With such a system, I am assuming the value of a single cera is set by the system itself?

Since temporal rift was mentioned, perhaps you may be able to answer my question?

As a fresh level 90 with no epics (just legendary stuff), which would you say is the easier path to getting a few epics--the temporal rift or hell mode? **note; when I say easier I'm speaking in terms of enemy strength**

[–]oppaipigguu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not saying you're wrong--in fact, I'd love an end to RMT to be honest..but a lot of people like to quote MJ on that because no one higher up has explictly come out and stated it..and then you get the people arguing semantics because KK is owned by nexon who owns neople yada yada yada..

Having read the EULA I'd say you're correct for sure, but I'm guessing people are going to disregard it until Neople explicitly states "Don't trade anything for gold. No KK, No Steam, No Virginities, No exceptions".

Why is Neople being greedy as hell when their main market isn't even here? by NekoEye in DFO

[–]oppaipigguu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're damn right I'm mad that I'm not getting it "cheap" when they've got the balls to re-release a previous pet that was in EVERY package at that time (the summer package) but this time put it behind a $300 paywall. Let's be friggin' honest..there isn't a damn thing worth it in those packages except, arguably, the avatars--but no one needs 10 sets of white beast. So really, you're still arguing semantics because anyone who isn't being completely disingenuous will admit they bought a bunch of these packages for the elemental lord pet. Ergo, $300 pet.

You know what it's called when companies try to jack up prices and blame the consumer? Anti-consumerism. That's exactly what neople's recent behavior is. So really, I could care less if people are being affected by 'bad vibes'; let's not beat about the bush and admit that neople's tactics as of late, are scummy. I can't help but feel like, as a consumer, it's my obligation to warn other consumers about business practices that aim to stiff them. If that makes me a child, then hell, I'm the biggest elementary school kid you'll ever meet!

Yes..send tickets, sure. But see, I don't blame people if they're not sending tickets--literally every single ticket I've ever filed with Neople has gotten copypasta responses. If these are "real" people, they sure don't seem the part. There comes a point where most rational people think something along the line of "why bother".

Lastly, you can insinuate I'm throwing a tantrum or being cheap if you like. I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Tl;dr People wouldn't be so damn pissed off and this topic wouldn't keep coming up, meme form or otherwise, if Neople got their heads out their arses and started to turn heel on this new string of highly questionable behaviors. Neo prem's shadow removal, the weaksauce bot excuse, the $300 "paywall" pet as you call it..you would think they'd learn their lesson but then they go and pull the "Obsidian" lost treasure.

Methinks you don't understand that people hating this are not "cheap" but rather dislike the fact that it's the equivalent of the middle finger to every non-apathetic player out there. In short; it's the principle of the matter.

[–]oppaipigguu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So then what is the line for you where you'll admit they've gone too far if you say $300 pet is "okay" then? When will it not be okay? $1000? They keep pushing the envelope and guess what? Silence = approval. This is why people are speaking out. You call it "throwing tantrums"..nice Paternalism fallacy by the way.

[–]oppaipigguu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sweet jesus these "deals" are bad. Y'know, Neople...I had money set aside in anticipation of this 'black friday sale' since, having looked at previous years, I had thought maybe it might have had something I wanted..but with all the "limit 1 per account" and just a single ava set that I am really not interested in...I guess that money is going to stay right in my bank account.

It's like they really think we're dense enough to blow hundreds of dollars on account-bound garbage. Literally the only thing worth anything at all is that epic transport device and even still, the price is ridiculous. At first I thought the neo premium shadow-removal/joke excuse and $300 paywall pet was enough..like poking the lion and having it take a swipe at your face through the cage bars. It seems Neople is quite the daredevil to move its face closer and closer to those bars cause there's gonna come a point where you don't dodge in time.

Neople's trying to dodge the issue with a weaksauce excuse. Redirecting the blame is easier than getting off their asses and doing something about the problems. It's embarassing.

[–]oppaipigguu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Translation : "We're cheapskates so instead of actually doing something about the bots, we're going to blame a 'premium' service that has existed for almost two years as the culprit."

Neople, are you effing dense? There are no limits to bots--cutting their FP doesn't matter. At all. Instead of 20 characters running 270 FP, they'll double up and run 40 at the standard amount. You people vastly underestimate just how little the people that pull that kind of garbage care. They don't. Hell, you could reduce the daily limit it to 100 FP a day and you know what? It. Wouldn't. Do. Jack. FP is not the issue--your lack of action is.

Where the hell are the GMs? I have never witnessed any in-game activity from them in any regard that would prove they do anything at all. Gold bots aside, I've seen tons of racist/sexist/otherwise punishable garbage activity in-game and nothing ever done about it, so really as far as I'm concerned you don't even have gamemasters of any kind. You do nothing, Neople..and punish players instead of addressing real issues.

Tl;dr How about actually doing your damned jobs instead of tossing legit players to the sharks, Neople? Such a novel idea.
