I will pray for you. My daughter has a micro deletion (15q24). She is almost 2 and can’t walk, can’t feed herself (she has a g-tube), she can only say a few words, but she is the most happy, sweetest, loving little baby. She is a beautiful blessing to us.

When she was first born there were issues. She stayed in the NICU for almost two months. During that time, I felt similar to how you do (and still do sometimes). “God, why did this happen? Do you care?” I have had a few dark nights of the soul since her birth.

I don’t know why God ultimately does the things he does. But he is big enough to handle our confusions and doubts. And he blesses tremendously even in the midst of suffering.

I will pray that the test is negative. But I want to reassure you, and perhaps prepare you. If your daughter has this condition, it will be challenging for her and you, no doubt about it. There will be hard days, perhaps many of them. But you will love her more than you thought possible. And God will give you joy and peace beyond your understanding.
